It felt good to be back in the district of Business Bay in Dubai after a long time. Apart from well known five star hotels, business bay also houses small restaurants and cafes. Yesterday we were at the new Thai restaurant Khao Siam 45 for lunch.
The newly opened Khao Siam 45 is located at the backside of Bayswater by Omniyat building at Marasi Drive-Business Bay. Their elaborate menu features classic Thai dishes as well as many of the authentic dishes that you will never find in other Thai restaurants in Dubai.
The chefs, the manager and the main ingredients are sourced from Thailand. Yes, we have a little piece of Thailand right here in Dubai.

Khao Siam 45 is a small and cosy venue with simple yet lovely interiors. We liked the warm and welcoming vibe of the place. Their menu for vegetarians is good but limited.
As I was still nursing a slight cold, we ditched the soft drinks and ordered soup. Tom Yam Hed was a comforting bowl of hot and sour mushroom soup, flavored with lemongrass and kafir lime leaves.
For our appetizer, we had Poh Pia Phak/ veg spring rolls served with sweet chili sauce. It was tasty and crispy. Next we ordered Som Tam Thai, the papaya salad. Though it was delicious, it was way too spicy.
Unfortunately, we couldn’t try either the red or the green curry as the vegetarian curry paste was out of stock. So we tried a new dish called Pad Phak Ruam Mit which was served with steamed Jasmine Rice. It was a basic and bland dish with stir-fried veggies and soy sauce.

We liked Khai Jiaw, Thai style omelette with chopped spring onions. One of the dishes that stood out for its exquisite flavor was Street Pad Thai. It is totally worth trying.
Dessert was the utterly delightful Thai classic Sticky Rice with Mango.
Khao Siam 45 is a promising new restaurant with authentic flavors of Thai cuisine. We enjoyed our culinary experience, the pricing is reasonable and affordable and the service was flawless.
