Emirati Afternoon Experience at Al Mashowa Restaurant- City Walk Dubai

Al Mashowa Restaurant

My family and I were shopping in our favorite lifestyle destination, City Walk recently and we needed a coffee and a snack break. That’s how we stumbled across Al Mashowa Restaurant.

Located in front of Hub Zero in City Walk, you cannot miss Al Mashowa with its beautiful traditional setting. The Emirati-inspired interiors offers a traditional and rustic touch to the venue. It also offers al fresco dining area.

Mashowa means boat in Emirati dialect and you can expect authentic local seafood at this restaurant. As it was around 4:30 in the evening, we were looking for a place to have tea or coffee with light snacks and not a full fledged meal.

We opted for Al Mashowa’s Emirati afternoon tea experience or Fawalat Al Mashowa. It happens every day from 4pm to 7pm. Fawalat Al Mashowa offers traditional Emirati meal filled with local flavors served from live cooking stations.

Chebab

Reasonably priced at AED 60, Fawalat Al Mashowa can be shared between 3-4 people and it consisted of:

  • Fresh Emirati Bread
  • Chebab
  • Mohallah
  • Batheetha
  • Sago
  • Assidat Al Boubar
  • Ferni
  • Gemar, Honey and Honey Dates Syrup
  • Emirati Coffee with Dates

Khameer

We loved the fresh, authentic, delicious and flavorful spread. The only drawback was that there was not a single savory dish, everything was on the sweeter side. If they add 1 or 2 savory dish, it would be perfect.

Our Fawalat Al Mashowa experience at Al Mashowa Restaurant was fabulous. We loved the food, drinks, atmosphere, service and the hospitality. For authentic Emirati cuisine, Al Mashowa Restaurant is the place to visit.
