Dum Pukht-Pakistani Cuisine in Dubai

Haleem

Being a vegetarian, I don’t visit Pakistani restaurants regularly, but I do have few favorite Pakistani restaurants that I frequent with my family and friends. Yesterday, I was craving for Pakistani food, especially Dum Biryani and I decided to order from Dum Pukht.

I remember visiting Dum Pukht more than ten years ago. I had loved their food and had also liked their vegetarian options though it was limited.

Here’s what team Dum Pukht has to say about their concept:

We at Dum Pukht take pride in bringing to you the most impeccable Dum Biryani corner that you can find in the UAE. If you are a fan of authentic Pakistani food then you can confide in us to satiate your sudden food cravings. We can vouch for the fact that our signature Biryani will leave you asking for more.

Dum Pukht now has two branches, the old one in Karama and the newest one in JLT. As the Karama branch was closer to my home, I ordered from their Karama branch.

Below is the list of dishes that we ordered:

For our starter, we ordered Aloo Kebab. It had fried potato patties mixed with sago and flavored with spices served with salad and mint chutney. The Aloo Kebab was tasty with well balanced flavors.

Main course was creamy and delicious Dal Makhani that had a homemade flavor and a great taste. We loved it. Palak Paneer was disappointing, as the paneer was hard and chewy with no flavor whatsoever.

The Vegetable Biryani was delicately spiced with tender pieces of veggies. Every spoonful was bursting with authentic and delicious flavors. The freshly prepared Raita complemented the Biryani perfectly.

To go with our meal, we ordered a variety of Pakistani Breads like Roghni Naan, Roghni Roti, Aloo Paratha and Tandoori Roti. The breads were amazing, our favorite was the utterly tasty and moist Roghni Roti.

We ended our lunch with Lahori Kulfi and Firni. The Lahori Kulfi was extremely delicious and a must-try if you visit Dum Pukht. The Firni was milky, sweet and fragrant.

We liked the food that we ordered from Dum Pukht. Great to note that, they’ve maintained the same good standards over the years. The pricing is reasonable too. Definitely, worth ordering from Dum Pukht.
