Lunch at Minato- Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Deira Creek

I always wanted to visit Minato, an authentic Japanese Restaurant in Dubai and on this Saturday I finally got around to it. I had an exceptional and amazing experience and can’t wait to go again with my family.

Located in the Level 2 of the Radisson Blu Hotel in Deira Creek, Baniyas, Minato boasts of an authentic and appealing Japanese ambience. The moment we entered the restaurant, we felt like we were transported back to our Japan holiday two summers ago.

Minato is a spacious restaurant with live teppanyaki table, sushi bar and private tatami rooms. The Japanese inspired minimalistic decor looks classy and elegant.

Their menu features handcrafted sushi, sashimi, ramen and many other traditional Japanese dishes. Their Friday brunch and dinner buffets are popular with the Japanese food lovers in the city. They also have teppanyaki and business lunch set menu.

We ordered from their a-la-carte menu for our lunch. They’ve a good beverage menu with a range of wines, cocktails, mocktails and other spirits. We liked their selection of Sake and the cold sake that we had was perfect for the hot Dubai afternoon.

As we are vegetarians, we only tried the veg dishes. Though the veggie options are limited, they’ve a nice selection and we were happy with what we tried.

Chilled Tofu was the best way to start our meal. The silken soft tofu with grated ginger, green onion and a little bit of soy sauce just melted in our mouth.

Next we had the crispy and tasty Vegetable Tempura. It was made to perfection.

We tried three kinds of Sushi rolls- Mango, Cucumber and Avocado. All the sushi rolls were good, but the mango sushi really stood out for its tangy and sweet taste which was refreshing.

For main course, we had comforting Japanese Fried Rice and Teppanyaki Style Grilled Veggies served with special Japanese sauce. We loved the grilled veggies.

Dessert was the in-house made Matcha Ice Cream. Minato serves the best matcha ice cream in town and all you matcha fans, now you know where to go for your matcha ice cream fix.

Minato, truly is one of the top 3 Japanese restaurants in the city. The food, the drinks, the atmosphere and the service was outstanding.
