Do you like the beautiful and the bizarre, just like me? I’ve some great news for you. Ripley’s Believe It or Not! the popular American franchise has landed in Dubai at WAFI. They’re celebrating their 100th anniversary this year. Yesterday I visited WAFI and got my dose of all things weird and wonderful.
I remember visiting Ripley’s many years ago on a family holiday and I was totally spellbound and amazed by the exhibits. As I stepped into WAFI yesterday I was super excited.
At the entrance of the mall from their customer service I took the Destination Map and a Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Passport. The destination map helps as more than 75 exhibits are scattered all across WAFI.
Ripley’s at WAFI will also have a winning element for curious visitors, who can get a passport to collect stamps as they pass by each exhibit location. Those who collect all the stamps can drop their passport into a raffle barrel for the chance to win prizes every week as well as the grand prize at the end of the exhibition.
I remember parting with my precious dollars when I visited Ripley’s in New York, here in WAFI, Dubai you can view the exhibition for Free during mall working hours.
Visitors can enjoy Ripley’s traveling show from this September until November. What a great opportunity to explore the unbelievable for the first time in the Middle East.
Ripley’s Traveling Shows are interactive, portable and one-of-a-kind experiences. It is based on 100 years of history, artifacts, intellectual property and media. I love the fact that Ripley’s creates experiences on science, art, sculpture, education and kids adventure and exploration.
Human and animal oddities that I had never heard or seen before made for interesting exhibits. There was a five-legged cow, how bizarre is that. And a skeleton of a real dinosaur, whoa!
My favorite was the artist’s corner in the main exhibit 1 which had a giant artwork as well as miniatures. It had giant portrait of Van Gogh made only with post cards, Sandra Bullock built with candies, Mona Lisa made out of toasted bread etc.
All the facts about the exhibits are written in both English and Arabic which will help you to know about the bizarre facts of each and every exhibits.
There are many more interesting and unique exhibits. Its a great place to visit for both adults and children. Ripley’s Believe It or Not! is not only about entertainment but it is also educational, intriguing and inspiring. Back to School makes it more fun with the opening of Ripley’s in WAFI, Dubai.
