I love Mexican food and I don’t know how I missed visiting Taqado Mexican Kitchen, a homegrown UAE concept that is there since 2012. It has 14 outlets across Dubai and Abu Dhabi, and three more outlets will be opening this year.
Taqado was started by a group of people who loved Mexican food and their focus was to offer authentic Mexican cuisine at an affordable price, and to always use local, high quality ingredients where possible.
The concept of Taqado is simple and you can customize your menu in 3 easy steps-pick a filling of your choice (chicken, beef, portobello mushroom, chili con carne etc), select a vehicle for the filling like tacos, burritos, quesadilla, salad bowls etc. The last step is to choose toppings such as sour cream, salsa, beans, guacamole or cheese.
I loved the fact that Taqado also has an all-day breakfast menu consisting of breakfast burritos, avocado on toast, huevos rancheros and much more.
I visited their DIFC outlet that is located inside Building 5, Marble Walk. It was a weekday when I visited them and the place was packed with office goers for lunch.
As I also had a friend with me, we ordered food to be shared between us. Some of the dishes we ordered were Nachos Grande, Tacos, Burritos and Quesadilla.
Everything we ate was fresh, delicious and flavorful. Whether you are a vegetarian or a non vegetarian, you have plenty of options. We being vegetarians, loved their offering.
We ended our lunch with their moreish Caramel Churros and perfectly brewed Organic Coffee.
Locally sourced ingredients, food that is full of flavor not flavorings, utterly delicious, wholesome Mexican cuisine that’s Taqado for you. They also have a kids menu. You can also order food from them by calling them directly or by Deliveroo.
