Breakfast at Fen Cafe & Restaurant in Sharjah Art Foundation

Things to do in Sharjah

Let’s talk about my food and fun filled Saturday. A plan made by three of my foodie friends and I brought us to Sharjah one Saturday morning. The mission of our plan was to go on a gastronomic trip to Sharjah and visit different cafes and restaurants. Our first stop for breakfast was Fen Cafe & Restaurant.

This hidden gem is located within the premises of Sharjah Art Foundation that is in the heart of Sharjah’s art district. It was a great way to explore Sharjah with a mix of culinary immersion, art and culture.

No need to worry about parking as there is ample parking space. Fen Cafe & Restaurant has modern and minimal furnishing in a traditional Arabic setting of the Sharjah Art Foundation.

Al Mureijah Square

Fen means art and Fen Cafe & Restaurant has a very artsy atmosphere. I found the venue charming, dreamy and beautiful. The kind of place I can spend hours together just pondering or reading a book.

Fen offers indoor and outdoor dining space, and the weather being so wonderful, we chose to have our breakfast al fresco style.

Ube Latte

But coffee first! Fen’s menu features a range of hot and iced coffees. We ordered Cappuccino, Latte, Ube Latte and Singaporean Coffee.

The coffee was perfectly brewed and tasted great. But the main highlight of our breakfast was the Ube Latte, a gorgeous purple colored latte made with purple sweet potato.

Japanese mocktail

Moving on to breakfast, I ordered Organic Chia Pudding which was sugar-free, healthy and loaded with fresh berries. I also had a super refreshing Japanese Mocktail while I was having my chia pudding.

Japanese Breakfast

Next I ordered Ricotta & Mushroom open sandwich that was made with toasted sourdough bread and topped with poached egg which was utterly delicious.

While I was enjoying my veggie breakfast, my friends loved their Lamb Prosciutto on Toast and Ochazuke, a traditional Japanese dish.

Ube Lèche Flan

After our breakfast, we tried two of their signature desserts- Ube Lèche Flan, a sugar free purple yam cake topped with crème caramel and Dessert Pile, a pile of cakes wrapped in fruit leather in four different flavors.

Both the desserts not only looked good, tasted incredible too. Make sure to order these two desserts when you visit Fen.

Loved the European and Asian inspired flavors at Fen. The amazing food and drinks were complimented by impeccable service and lovely atmosphere. Fen Cafe & Restaurant is a must-visit venue in Sharjah.

After breakfast we visited the Sharjah Art Foundation and enjoyed the eclectic selection of art.
