Parisian export to Dubai, the celebrated La Cantine du Faubourg, a restaurant and lounge located at Jumeirah Emirates Towers recently launched a new lounge menu. Last Wednesday after-work we visited La Cantine du Faubourg to try their new lounge menu.
La Cantine du Faubourg is a French dining destination that relies on five key principles: sound, music, image, art and food. This out-of-the box dining concept features a garden terrace overlooking DIFC’s top landmarks, a natural minimalistic bar, pergola dining room, a salon restaurant and a lounge.
The minute we entered the dreamy venue, we felt like we were transported to a chic, elegant and contemporary restaurant in Paris. It is like an urban oasis where you can utilize all of your senses to enjoy their mélange of dining, music, art and ambience.
La Cantine is a spacious venue with different kinds of seating arrangements. The lush green terrace has a cosy atmosphere where as the restaurant offers a sophisticated setting and the lounge has a relaxed vibe. As we were trying their new lounge menu, we were seated at the lounge.
The lounge is a perfect place to unwind and have a drink or two while enjoying their innovative new menu. The new ‘Lounge Platter’ is available on weekdays from 5pm to 10pm in the indoor bar and lounge sections.
They offer two kinds of ‘Lounge Platter’ –AED 200 with two innocent mocktails or AED 250 with two glasses of grape beverages. We opted for the second choice. But we also tried some of their finely handcrafted cocktails.
We loved the ‘Lounge Platter ‘ that consisted of:
Creamy burrata served with cherry tomatoes, black grapes and pomegranate; fresh yellowfin tuna ceviche with sesame, avocado and sweet onion vinaigrette; the beloved ‘Coquillettes de mon enfance’; a delicious quinoa salad with roasted apples, avocado, fennel and cranberries; Wagyu sliders and fried calamari.
We loved this light dinner alternative with more variety in small portions and its perfect for sharing with colleagues and friends. The ‘Lounge Platter ‘ features an array of executive Chef Gilles Bosquet’s special selected items from La Cantine’s ‘a la carte’ menu.
As it was our first time in La Cantine we wanted to try their desserts too. So we ordered their signature dessert Eton Mess and Pumpkin Seeds Nougatine, almond cake and caramelized banana. Both the desserts were deliciously different and delightful.
We enjoyed our dining experience at La Cantine. The food, the drinks, the service, the ambience and the music was outstanding. Their new lounge menu is worth trying.
La Cantine also has a brunch every Saturday. If you are looking for where to book on Valentine’s Day, they also have a special themed menu and a diamond ring to win.
