September is the best time to be in Dubai if you are into restaurant scene. As the summer season comes to an end, there are numerous new interesting restaurant openings, launch of new menus and theme nights. For a hardcore foodie like me, its an exciting period and I always look forward to this month.
When I heard about a new cheese and wine night in the city, I had to check it out. And that’s how I got introduced to this wonderful restaurant/steakhouse called The City Grill.
The City Grill is a South African Steakhouse and they are located at The Atrium in Al Habtoor City. Its a place to fulfill all your carnivorous cravings with a wide selection of South African dishes with a modern twist. They also have a huge selection of premium beef.
Ah! You must be wondering, what a vegetarian like me must be doing here? Of course, they do have a small selection of dishes to cater to vegetarians also. But I visited them to try their Cheese & Vine night, that happens every Monday from 6pm-9pm.
Before I give more details about their Cheese & Vine night, I would love to say a few words about the decor of the place. The City Grill has a contemporary, sophisticated and elegant decor. And a very welcoming vibe, its a great place to relax and enjoy your meal with family and friends.
Coming back to their Cheese & Vine night, The City Grill offers an extensive selection of cheeses from the buffet and a wide range of wine. All this just for AED 150 per person. Unlimited cheese and wine for just AED 150, how cool is that! If you only want to have unlimited cheese then it is AED 90 per person.
We were a bunch of friends and we loved their amazing selection of wine. We tried 3 red, 3 white and 1 rose wine. Some of my favorite cheese from the buffet were Gorgonzola, creamy truffle cheese and goat’s cheese. Along with the cheese, there were crackers, jams, breads, fresh figs, grapes and dry fruits.
Overall, we had a fabulous experience and can’t wait to visit them again. If you love the winning combination of cheese and grape then definitely the Cheese & Vine night at The City Grill is the perfect night for you.
