Bol Gappa-Bollywood Themed Restaurant in Dubai Parks & Resorts

Bollywood Parks Dubai
As the schools are still closed for summer vacation, we planned our day out in Dubai Parks & Resorts. After having a wonderful time there, it was time to have dinner. We headed over to Riverland, a themed fun, dining and retail destination in Dubai Parks & Resorts which you can access without ticket for dinner.

The colorful and quirky interiors of Bol Gappa caught our attention and we decided to have dinner there. Bol Gappa is a Bollywood themed restaurant offering contemporary Indian Fusion Food

The restaurant is located near Bollywood Parks.  Bol Gappa means Bollywood gossip. If you are Bollywood movie buff, you’ll fall in love with this Bollywood themed restaurant’s decor. It also offers outdoor dining space.

Bollywood themed restaurants in Dubai
From background music to decor and menu, the restaurant has Bollywood inspiration everywhere. Even the uniforms of the restaurant staff had Bollywood dialogues printed on them. The Bollywood quiz on our table mat, had us testing our Bollywood knowledge.

We loved the bright Bollywood movie posters that adorned the walls of the restaurant. Some the dishes in the menu were named after Bollywood movies. Their menu has good variety and offers great options for vegetarians as well as non vegetarians.

Jalapeño drink
We started with drinks first. We ordered two of their mocktails- Citrus Sparkle and Jalapeño Watermelon Fresca. Both the drinks were refreshing and tasty. I especially liked the Jalapeño Watermelon Fresca as it had a hint of Jalapeño that gave the drink a slightly spicy kick.

Starters

Mexican Bhel

Mexican Bhel from their Chaat section of the menu is one of their popular dishes. It had a delectable fusion of Indian and Mexican flavors. And we loved it. It was served in an upside down umbrella metal bowl.

Paneer Popcorn had mint chutney flavored cottage cheese balls coated with gram flour batter that was deep fried and served with masala fries. It was served in a trolley kind of a metal dish. Paneer Popcorn was a bit disappointing as we found it bland and flavorless.

Mains

Amritsari Kulcha

Highway de Dhabe ki Shaan had 2 mini Amritsari Kulchas, Punjabi Chloe and Boondi Raita. It had authentic flavors and tasted utterly delicious. The quantity was good too.

Bhaji Pao Maskani was the Bol Gappa style Pav Bhaji that was served in a fondue pot with mini Pav. The Bhaji was perfectly cooked and it had well balanced spice, flavor and taste. It was awesome, we liked it.

Dessert

Cutting Chai in Dubai

Carrot Halwa Spring Rolls was served with vanilla ice cream. Filo pastry sheet was filled with carrot halwa and deep fried and served spring rolls style, it went well with vanilla ice cream. The Carrot Halwa Spring Rolls were extremely delicious. A must-try.

We ended our dinner with a hot cup of Nukkad Ki Chai. It was homemade masala tea with ginger and cardamom.

Our overall experience was very good. The food, the drinks, the ambience and the service was fabulous. We were impressed by their presentation of the food. I would love to recommend this quirky Indian restaurant to anybody visiting Bollywood Parks or Riverland.
