Il Borro Tuscan Bistro- Jumeirah Al Naseem

Il Borro Tuscan Bistro in Dubai
Il Borro Tuscan Bistro is the newest addition to Dubai’s bustling food scene. Il Borro, the Tuscan estate owned by the famous Ferragamo family recently launched their first venture outside of Italy- Il Borro Tuscan Bistro.

Translating a 1,000 year history Il Borro Tuscan Bistro is a modern interpretation of the Tuscan cuisine where sourced ingredients follow the biodynamic philosophy of the brand.

Located at the Jumeirah Al Naseem hotel in the Turtle Lagoon, Il Borro is an Italian fine dining restaurant offering Tuscan cuisine with a modern touch.

You can expect a great dining experience where you can explore their organic wines, olive oil, seasonal vegetables and honey sourced directly from the Il Borro estate in Tuscany. We loved their fresh, flavorful and sumptuous food.

The decor of Il Borro is modern, classy and elegant. Done up in light hues of ivory and beige, the spacious venue looks bright and beautiful.

Tuscan cuisine in Dubai
When we stepped inside the venue on a Thursday evening, it was packed and noisy. As we were late, our table was taken up and hence we had to wait at the bar area until we got a new table.

Wines from Tuscany
After finally being seated at our table, we were handed their simple menu which had a range of salads, soups, starters, pizzas, pastas, mains and desserts. While we were deciding what to order, we were served a complimentary basket of their freshly baked homemade Bread.

For our drinks, we ordered a glass of White and Red Wine. They have an amazing selection of Italian wines, cocktails, mocktails and other spirits.

Appetizers

Pappa al pomodoro

Insalata di rape rosse or the beetroot and goat cheese salad is one of their signature dish. Made with young goat cheese, thinly sliced beetroot and pistachios, it tasted absolutely scrumptious. A definite must-try, if you ask me.

Pappa al pomodoro is one of my favorite Tuscan soup. It had organic plum tomatoes, garlic, onion and basil. It was a pure joy to dunk the Tuscan bread inside the pomodoro bowl and eat. We loved it.

Mains

Pizza al tartufo

As a huge lover of truffle, I had to order their Pizza al tartufo. Its a traditional pizza made with fontina cheese and black winter truffle from Norcia region in Italy.  The pizza tasted like heaven with dripping cheese and deep musky aroma of the black truffle.

Penne rigate Gentile all’ arrabbiata bio is Il Borro’s Penne Pasta with arrabbiata sauce. Loved the spicy and rustic homemade Italian arrabbiata sauce that was made with organic tomato sauce, garlic and chili Parmesan.

Dessert

Passion fruit Panna Cotta

We wanted to have something light for dessert and our server suggested Panna Cotta al frutto della passione. Super creamy and silky passion fruit Panna Cotta was served with red berries salad. It was utterly delicious.

We ended our dinner with floral flavored Chamomile Tea.

Overall, we had a wonderful dining experience. The food, the drinks, the service and the ambience was outstanding. The only downside was it was noisy and too crowded.
