Departures Brunch- Airways Themed Friday Brunch at Dusty’s

Departures Brunch, Dusty's Dubai

Friday will not be the same in Dubai without the popular Friday brunch.  My agenda for Friday is to wake up late, get ready and hit up a Friday brunch venue in the city. The kind of options we have here for Friday brunch is truly amazing.

Last week, I visited one of the most fun brunch ever at Dusty’s located in Al Fattan Currency House, DIFC. The Departures brunch is a airways themed  brunch at Dusty’s.

I’ve been to Dusty’s almost an year ago for breakfast and loved the food. So I knew this brunch was going to be a good one.

At the entrance is an imitation security scanner and after we went past that, we picked our boarding pass and took our seat. The staff were dressed as pilots and cabin crew, we really felt like we were on an aircraft.

Rules of flight:

  • Please keep over 100ml of liquid with you at all times.
  • Sharp dressing/look is compulsory.
  • All photos must be tagged with #DustysDubai.
  • What happens on the plane stays on the plane.
  • Sulking is strictly prohibited.
  • Check-in closes 30 minutes before departure.

About Dusty’s

Dusty’s is a homegrown restaurant and bar that offers indoor and outdoor dining space, live music and lively atmosphere. The vibrant art murals and New York inspired decor gives it a cool vibe.

It offers international cuisine. Whether its for breakfast, lunch, dinner or for drinks- Dusty’s has it covered. Their ladies night and Friday brunch are a must.

Now returning back to the brunch, thankfully the food was nothing like the airline food. No queuing up for buffet either. The brunch is served at the table, course wise. So you are ensured to have a relaxed time.

Stella Artois
The brunch comes in 3 packages, we took the house beverage package. We were handed an a la carte brunch menu and we could choose unlimited amounts of whatever we wanted. Being vegetarians, we ordered only the vegetarian dishes and loved the variety they offered to vegetarians.

Our boozy brunch included wines, beers and special cocktails.

Brunch table
For our first course/starters we ordered Cheesy Garlic Bread, Spinach Hummus, Burrata and Quinoa Salad. We liked all the dishes, but our favorite was the creamy and moreish Spinach Hummus that was served with crispy tortilla chips.

Baked aubergine
Next to arrive was the main course. We ordered Wild Mushroom, Penne with Arrabiata sauce, Mushroom Risotto, Baked Gnocchi, Baked Aubergine and a side of Truffle Fries with Parmesan. Apart from the Mushroom Risotto, we liked everything else. The food was packed with great flavor and amazing taste. The quantity was small, but if you ask me, it was perfect as we could try everything. And we also had the option of repeating whatever we liked.

Apple and Elderflower tea
For dessert, we ordered their famous Candy Station. It was a huge platter with chocolate fondue, cake pops, meringue, churros, marshmallows and sweet crudités. It was delicious and super indulgent.

We ended our brunch with soothing and fragrant Apple & Elderflower Tea.

The fab brunch was complemented by great music by the in-house DJ and violinist. Don’t know when I had so much fun at a Friday brunch. Dusty’s Departures brunch is my go-to Friday brunch in Dubai.
