Finding Audrey by Sophie Kinsella

Sophie Kinsella books

I am a big fan of light hearted chick lit books and every month I read 2-3 chick lit books. I like the fact that these books are relationship centric and deal with life, love, heartache and melodrama.

When I am in a bad mood or depressed, chick lit books have come to my rescue. And the New York Times bestselling author Sophie Kinsella is the queen of chick lit books. I love her Shopaholic series of books.

Published in 2016, Finding Audrey is a young adult novel set in contemporary times. Its an entertaining book that deals with grave issues like bullying, anxiety and depression in a gentle and light hearted manner.

This novel is about Audrey, a teenage girl suffering from social anxiety disorder. She has experienced severe bullying in her school and as a result she has panic attacks and she has virtually become a prisoner in her own home.

Finding Audrey is the story of Audrey’s journey to psychological recovery with the help of her family, her friend Linus and Dr.Sarah.

Overall, this is a wonderful book. I liked Sophie Kinsella’s first young adult novel. Teen or not, you’ll like it.

Happy reading xx

Few quotes from the book that I liked:

“I’ve confronted enough assholes in my time. They never realize they’re assholes. Not once. Whatever you say.”

“But, Audrey, that’s what life is. We’re all on a jagged graph. I know I am. Up a bit, down a bit. That’s life.”

“I find eye contact hard.”

“Here I am. Stuck in my own stupid brain.”

“Where there is shouting, there is no true knowledge.”
