Driving past Sheikh Zayed road, I had always seen Crumbs Élysée and wondered what kind of place it was. And when my family and I wanted to have lunch yesterday, we decided to visit Crumbs Élysée.
Conveniently located in Sheikh Zayed Road, Crumbs Élysée is a restaurant and cafe divided into two parts-A family style restaurant & cafe and a Shisha lounge. We visited their family style restaurant & cafe for lunch.
Crumbs Élysée is a bistro style restaurant offering French pastries, cakes and continental inspired cuisine. The menu is vast with a good selection of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, mains and desserts. They also have a separate breakfast menu and a small selection of Arabic food.
For me the main highlight of the place was the ambience. It offers indoor and outdoor seating area with beautiful and rustic atmosphere. This casual dining restaurant is kid friendly. Loved the charming and cosy decor.
Mocktails
We wanted to start our lunch on a healthy note. So we ordered Coco Kale Colado and Basiliko. They were kale and basil based healthy and tasty drinks. We were impressed with their healthy drinks offering. They also offer fresh juices, milk shakes, soft drinks and hot beverages.
Appetizers
Spicy Potato cubes garnished with coriander and garlic was served on Parmesan cheese crust. It was a modern take on the traditional Lebanese potato harra, but it was lacking in flavor and taste.
Cheese Sambousek is a fried savoury pastry that was filled with cheese. It was well made and tasted great.
Main Course
All their pizzas are made fresh in wood fired oven and we ordered their Vegetarian Pizza. The Vegetarian Pizza had a medley of veggies topped with mozzarella cheese. It was okay but not extraordinary.
Though the Penne Arrabiata looked good, it didn’t taste good. The Arrabiata sauce is supposed to be spicy, here it was bland.
Spinach and Goat Cheese Ravioli was stuffed with spinach and goat cheese. It had a rich creamy sauce. This pasta was delicious and we relished it.
Dessert
Smash Me Brownie, I know it sounds funny, but that was the name of the dessert at the restaurant. Though we wanted to order Dark Chocolate Sphere, our server insisted on this brownie and we ordered it.
Smash Me Brownie had two layers of brownies, vanilla and chocolate coated ice cream and it was topped with chocolate sauce and garnished with berries. The portion size was huge. It was too heavy and wouldn’t recommend it.
Our overall experience wasn’t that great. The food requires improvement. The service was slow. They also have a Friday brunch buffet.
