It was pure nostalgia when I visited Al Fresco, the award winning Italian restaurant after many years. I remember coming here for some of the special moments of my life with my husband. In fact, when we moved to Dubai, Al Fresco was where we celebrated our first Valentine’s Day.
Located in the Second Floor of Crowne Plaza Dubai, Al Fresco is an authentic Italian restaurant offering simple and traditional Italian food. Over the years, Al Fresco has won many awards.
Al Fresco is a terrace and an open-air themed restaurant. The interiors of the restaurant is simple and minimalistic with comfortable seating area and wooden flooring. It has a cosy and friendly atmosphere.
As I visited the restaurant in the afternoon for lunch, the place looked bright and sunny with sunlight seeping in from its tall glass panels.
All the tables were set up beautifully with table napkins folded like a jacket. Their menu features a wide range of dishes from starters to main course and desserts.
Al Fresco also has a lovely bar with a good selection of wines, fresh juices, cocktails and other spirits. I had a glass of my favorite Chianti wine from Italy.
We were served a complimentary basket of freshly baked Italian Bread to start our lunch.
Chef Gabriel surprised us with a Burrata and pesto based pre starter which tasted amazing.
Starter
Bruschetta Alle Fave was a different and delicious bruschetta that I’ve ever tried. It had rustic Tuscan bread topped with tomato pesto spread, fava beans, wild mushrooms and herb ricotta.
Made with heritage tomato, Burrata cheese, rocket pesto, homemade grissini and balsamic vinegar, their Burrata Caprese was fresh and tasty. No wonder its so popular with all the diners.
Main Course
Though I am not a big fan of risotto, I liked their Mushroom Risotto. It had a delicious combination of mixed wild mushrooms, Arborio rice, truffle oil and Parmesan cheese.
Agnolotti Pasta is Chef Gabriel’s wonderful creation. I can’t even describe how delicious it was. It had Agnolotti Ravioli filled with buffalo mozzarella, Parmesan cream and black truffle sauce. This dish is a must-try at Al Fresco.
Dessert
Well, dessert was a super indulgent affair. I tried all their 5 desserts in a sharing platter that was beautifully plated by the talented chef.
The sumptuous platter consisted of Tiramisu, Panna Cotta, Chocolate Fondant, Chestnut Mont Blanc and Gelato. Each and every dessert was deliciously different. I loved all of them.
Overall I had a wonderful experience. The food, the service, the hospitality and the ambience is good. I would love to recommend Al Fresco Italian Restaurant at Crowne Plaza Dubai to all my friends and family.
