In the beginning of this month there was an exciting new opening in Dubai. Eyescream and Friends, a shaved gelato concept from Barcelona, Spain opened its first outlet in Dubai.
Eyescream and Friends is a young brand that was started by two entrepreneurs in Barcelona in 2012. Now this concept is in Singapore and Dubai. They also have plans of opening outlets in Kuwait, Malaysia and more countries.
Eyescream and Friends is located in the First Floor of Dubai Festival City. It’s a small kiosk with a few tables and chairs as a seating area.
What’s so unique about this Barcelona brand? It is the delicious taste and texture of the shaved gelato and super cute presentation. The shaved gelato is served with two edible eye candies on top.

They have flavors like vanilla, strawberry, wild berry yogurt, yogurt, cheesecake, mango and chocolate. They have a range of toppings like caramel, pistachio, choco chip, date syrup, chocolate sauce, marshmallow, gummy bears, cookie crumbs etc.
I tried three flavors-mango, wild berry yogurt and strawberry. Loved all the three flavors. But my favorite was the mango. More than the toppings, I liked the flavors. I was quite happy to see my favorite pistachio topping, but somehow it didn’t work well as a topping on the shaved gelato.
The gelato with the two toppings costs AED 30 and for just gelato without any topping it is AED 22. With or without the toppings, your gelato will be served with candied eyes 👀!
