Spice Kraft-A Vegetarian Experience

Spice Kraft Restaurant JLT
After a long time, I visited the neighborhood of JLT recently. As we were in a mood for Indian cuisine, we decided to pay Spice Kraft a visit. It was our first time at the restaurant and in fact, we had never heard about it. But looking at how busy the restaurant was, we decided to give it a try.

Located in the Lake Level of Platinum Tower in Cluster I of Jumeirah Lake Towers, Spice Kraft is an Indian restaurant serving Vegetarian food.

Spice Kraft is a small and cosy restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating area. The interiors of the restaurant is simple, clean and colorful. The huge plasma television on the wall kept us entertained throughout our dinner with some amazing Bollywood songs.

The outdoor seating area has a good view. And it’s perfect to dine outdoors in the pleasant winter weather.

Spice Kraft boasts of a diverse and elaborate vegetarian menu from chaats, breakfast to tandoor, grilled sandwiches, Thali and Gujarati, Punjabi, Mumbai-style and South Indian food. They also offer Indian Chinese cuisine.

Sweet Lassi
Before we could order the food, we ordered our drinks. They have a good selection of Indian traditional drinks, fresh juices, milkshakes, soft drinks and hot beverages. We ordered a glass of Masala Chaas and Lassi. These are simple and easy-to-make drinks and you can’t go wrong with them.

From their Chaat section, we ordered Pani Puri. It wasn’t that good, the puris didn’t seem fresh and crisp.

Pani Puri
For our starter, we ordered Veg Kebab Platter from their Barbeque section. In this platter, we got an assortment of some of their signature tandoori kebabs like veg seekh kebab, cheese mushroom medley, bharwan aloo and paneer tikka. Each and every kebab were packed with good taste and flavor.

For our main course, we ordered Dal Makhani and Veg Kholapuri along with Indian bread like Tawa Roti and Thepla

Veg Kholapuri
The dal makhani was well cooked and had a homemade flavor. We loved it.

The veg kholapuri had well balanced flavors and tasted extremely good.

The freshly made tawa roti and thepla were soft and non oily. And really went well with the curries that we ordered.

We ordered two desserts-Gulkand Khoya Shooter and Gulab Jamun

Gulkand Khoya
The gulkand khoya shooter had an amazingly different taste. It was served in a shot glass and had layers of gulkand(sweet preserve of rose petals) and khoya(diary product that is used for Indian sweets). And you won’t see it in other Indian restaurants. This delicious dessert is a definite must-try at Spice Kraft Restaurant. The gulab Jamun was also very good. It had that oh-so-delicious melt in your mouth quality to it.

If you are looking for a good vegetarian restaurant serving Indian food in JLT and nearby areas, you can definitely give Spice Kraft a try. The prices are pocket friendly too.
