For me, winters in Dubai is all about hanging out with my friends in outdoor lounges or cafes over a drink or two. Having attended the launch party of Vii Terrace Bar and Lounge two years ago, I was planning to visit Vii again. And that’s how I ended up there on a Monday evening with a bunch of friends.
Located on the 7th Floor of the plush Conrad Hotel in Sheikh Zayed Road, Vii offers a sophisticated terrace, bar and lounge area. The concept of this place is a hidden garden which meets the Dubai sky.
The journey to discover this hidden garden is through a short dark tunnel. After the tunnel, you will come to a bright, radiant and gorgeously green garden with a canopy of leaves. It’s truly a spectacular place.
We were impressed with their crystal chandeliers and bespoke furniture. Loved the bar, it was like a bright spot in the middle of the garden. Vii Terrace Bar and Lounge is a perfect spot in the evenings to unwind and relax.
The in-house DJ plays great music from R ‘n’ B, hip hop to house, techno and club music. For all shisha enthusiasts, Vii offers many different flavors of shisha. If you are confused while deciding the flavor of your shisha, then just ask for recommendation from their knowledgeable staff. Well, that’s what we did!
After being seated in one of their comfortable lounge. We immediately ordered our drinks. Couple of us ordered their cocktails and some of us ordered wine.
Their drinks menu is fantastic, it offers a good selection of cocktails, mocktails, wines and other spirits. The gin and vodka based cocktails that we ordered were really good. And we were also happy with the wine selection.
Vii’s food menu offers salads, sushi, sashimi and other delectable finger food. We ordered few of their light bites to go with our drinks.
Here is the list of few of the finger food that we sampled:
- Spinach Falafel came on a bed of beetroot hummus topped with pepper salsa. It had us craving for more.
- Watermelon, Feta & Argula Salad was dressed in aged balsamic vinegar. It’s a refreshingly delicious salad.
- Next we fried Truffle Fries our favorite comfort food. It was so addictive that we polished it off in a couple of minutes.
- They have such a great variety of sushi and sashimi that we couldn’t resist ordering it. So we ordered a veg Maki Roll and Tempura Roll. The Maki Roll was like any other Maki Roll that we get in Dubai, but the Tempura Roll was outstanding.
Vii not only does great drinks, the food is really good too. The service, the music and the ambience is top notch. Vii Terrace Bar and Lounge is a lovely spot. It is worth visiting for a sundowner or after work drinks or just to chill out and relax. If you are in a mood to dance, just head over to the Vii Night Club that is situated in the same location. The club opens at 11:30pm.
