Indian Dinner At Bhoujan

Bhoujan
When it comes to Indian restaurants, Dubai offers plethora of choices. I’ve been to many Indian restaurants, both big and small. Just before I traveled during Christmas time, I came across a new Indian restaurant called Bhoujan. I thought I will give it a try and visited the restaurant along with my family.

The word Bhoujan means food or meal in Hindi. Bhoujan restaurant offers North Indian cuisine with a contemporary touch. They also serve Indian Chinese food. Their menu offers a good selection for both – vegetarians and non vegetarians.

Indian restaurant in Motor City Dubai
Located in the Main Boulevard on Emirates Road, Motor City, Bhoujan offers a cozy atmosphere. The Indian inspired decor looks stunning. Loved the paintings that adorned the walls. They also offer an outdoor dining space which is perfect for Dubai winters.

Indian drinks
We started off with drinks first. We ordered the refreshing Orange Juice and Lemon Mint.

As in most Indian restaurants, in Bhoujan also we were served a complimentary platter of Poppadums, chutneys, salad and pickle.

Pre starters

Indian starters

We were offered the Pani Puri Shots from their chaats and snacks menu. It had crisp and tiny Puri with light stuffing and mildly spicy Pani. It was  a delicious start for our dinner.

Saag Bites was our favorite dish in Bhoujan. It was an excellent and modern take on the traditional makki ki roti and sarson ka saag. It was bite sized treat topped with a small chunk of Feta cheese.

Starters

Hara Bhara Kebab is a popular vegetarian kebab made with spinach, cottage cheese and Indian spices. It was non-oily and tasty.

Dahi Ke Sholey is the pan fried hung yogurt rolls mixed with spices and herbs. It had a crisp exterior and soft interior with yogurt stuffing inside, Dahi Ke Sholey was delicious.

Kadai paneer
Main Course

Firangi Vegetables had a medley of veggies cooked tava style. It could have been better as it was a bit bland.

The tangy Paneer Kadai was flavorful, spicy and delicious. It had semi dry gravy with soft pieces of paneer.

Dal Makhani was outstanding, it is one of their signature dishes, black lentils cooked with their own homemade special spices and garnished with cream.

Bread

We had Roomali Roti and Pudina Paratha that was freshly baked and went well with our curries and vegetables.

Dessert

Gulab Jamun

We ended our dinner with the scrumptious, soft and sweet Gulab Jamun. It had a melt-in-your mouth quality, that will leave you asking for more.

Overall, the food, the service and the ambience was good. A great Indian restaurant option that is reasonably priced in Motor City.
