Last week of December saw me going back to AB’s Absolute Barbecues. But this time it was for their Sheikh Zayed road outlet. AB’s is a popular grill restaurant chain from India. They have two outlets in Dubai and the Sheikh Zayed road branch is the first outlet that was opened couple of years ago.
Located at the Fraser Suites on the ground floor of Sidra Tower, AB’s is a spacious venue that can easily seat 175 people. It is a casual dining restaurant with comfortable seating area and modern decor.
The Concept
AB’s offers a Do-it-yourself indoor grilling experience. There is a live charcoal grill at each and every table. Whether you are vegetarian or non vegetarian, you will get to try 6-7 varieties of barbecued dishes that is grilled live on your table.
Apart from the grills, they also serve 5-6 varieties of starters. The starters are served to the table. Main course and desserts are served buffet style. There is also a central live station with options for Indian chaats, Mongolian barbecue , popcorn and cotton candy station.
It is an all-you-can-eat buffet with a good spread. From soups, salads to main course and desserts. It offers something for everyone and every kind of palate.
Their drinks menu is vast, they have some interesting mocktails, juices and soft drinks. We ordered their mocktail-Pomegranate Ginger, it was delicious and refreshing.
Most of the food that we tried was good. We especially liked the barbecue, starters, chaats and the mains. Some of their outstanding dishes that are a definite must-try at AB’s are Crispy Corn, American Cheese Potato, Churrasco Pineapple, all kinds of Chaat, Teen Mirch Ka Paneer, Dal Makhani, Biryani, Gulab Jamun and Cold Stone Ice Cream.
The newly introduced cotton candy, popcorn and cookies live counter was a big hit with the children.
We visited them on a Tuesday evening and the place was full. Though it was busy, the staff took good care of us. The service was flawless, friendly and helpful. No wonder, it is such a popular restaurant.
The pricing is very reasonable and affordable. Definitely recommend AB’s for delicious and good quality food, friendly atmosphere, outstanding service and value for money food.
