Winter is the perfect time of the year for Al Fresco dining in Dubai. What better way to enjoy the weather, than dining outdoors in the pleasant weather. That’s my plan for winter this year. While on a lookout for an Al Fresco dining destination in the city, I came across Meridien Village Terrace at the Le Meridien Dubai Hotel & Conference Centre.
Set in a piazza style terrace, Meridien Village Terrace offers themed cuisine evenings with outdoor dining and live music entertainment. With live cooking stations and an endless array of international dishes, their buffet offers sumptuous food.
The setting of this place has a relaxed and chilled out vibe. It is a great place to visit with family and friends. Meridien Village Terrace with it’s dim lights, elegant set up and good music is a perfect spot for romantic dates too.
They’ve a different theme night every night, we went on a Sunday which happened to be an Asian Night named Tour of Asia Night. It’s an all you can eat and drink buffet night.
While we were sipping on white wine, we were served a Bread Basket. And here’s what you can expect in Tour of Asia Night:
The Salad Station had a good selection of vegetarian and non vegetarian salads. There was also a do-it-yourself salad counter.
The Japanese Station had all the essentials like sushi, sashimi and nigiri.
The Chinese Station had all the popular offering like spring rolls, dim sums, wonton, noodles and more.
The Thai Station had most of my Thai favorites like papaya salad, pad Thai, green curry and more.
Teriyaki Station offered grilled and marinated meat to perfection.
The Indian Station offered chicken tikka, paneer tikka, dal makhani, naan bread and few other tandoori specialities.
The Arabic Station had salads, cold Mezze and grilled meat.
The chefs at the Live Cooking Station were serving up freshly prepared dishes, it was fun to watch our food being prepared.
Apart from the Asian food, there was a selection of international dishes too. There was a bread and cheese counter also. All in all, good variety of well cooked and delicious food.
Coming to the desserts, which happens to be my favorite part of the buffet, they not only offered Asian desserts, there were international desserts too. Loved the cakes, pastries, pudding, crêpes, fresh fruits, sorbets and ice creams that we tried.
Overall, we had a wonderful experience. The food, the service, the music and the atmosphere was amazing. Looking forward to trying out their other theme nights.
