Café Des Artistes, the new luxury French dining destination opened it’s doors to the public in the first week of December. I had the pleasure of dining at this cafe last week. It is a place where French luxury and artisanal craftsmanship meet. This Parisian inspired urban cafe is a welcome addition to Dubai’s food scene.
Located at the trendy BOXPARK in Dubai, Café Des Artistes offers a dining experience that celebrates quality, exquisite design and handmade artisanal products.
Café Des Artistes offers French-Mediterranean menu in a sophisticated setting. It offers breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. It also offers an impressive selection of exquisitely handcrafted Patisserie and chocolates.
The decor of the cafe is tastefully done and it oozes glamour. Dining at Café Des Artistes transports you to a luxurious and chic cafe in Paris. Loved the exotic crystal chandeliers, elegant furniture and beautiful tableware. It has an inviting vibe.
After being seated and while going through their menu, we were offered complimentary platter of Homemade Bread with their special Mushroom butter and Lime infused oil.
They have an extensive beverage menu that includes non alcoholic wines, homemade lemonade, mocktails, flavored black teas, herbal teas and coffee selection.
We ordered 2 of their special mocktails- Yemeni Honey and Pear Cocktail and White Peach and Lavender Cocktail. Both the mocktails were tasty and refreshing.
Their food menu is not elaborate, but does offer a good selection of dishes. Being a vegetarian, I only ordered the vegetarian dishes. But I liked the fact that, upon request they could make changes in a dish. For example, there was a salad with prawns and they made it vegetarian by not adding the prawns.
We started off with a Citrus Fennel Salad. It was a wonderful way to start off our lunch with this light and zesty salad with a subtle hint of fennel.
Next we ordered couple of mains with a side dish.
Truffled French Fries was the side dish we ordered. It was such a delight to have, hand cut fries that were fried and truffled to perfection.
Slow cooked Glazed Vegetable Crock Pot packed a flavorful punch.
Made with grilled porcini mushrooms, the Risotto was rich, creamy and extremely delicious.
As for the desserts, we had Pistachio Soufflé from the menu and Fruit Tart and Rose Cake from their Patisserie.
The Pistachio Soufflé was a glorious nutty dessert that was fluffy, tasty and not too sweet.
The bite sized Fruit Tart was great too, but the Rose Cake was outstanding, flavored with rose water, it tasted absolutely divine.
We ended our lunch with a pot of fruit flavored tea.
Overall, we had a good dining experience. Impressed with the way they have blended the classic dishes in a contemporary way.
With the beautiful recently opened Atelier Des Artistes located next door, the Des Artistes brand offers a mixed use space that celebrates ingenuity and femininity, both modern and classic and totally unexpected in Dubai. Designed to appeal across generations, this is a space that pays homage to refinement and beauty, bringing together Dubai’s first urban atelier and dining space.
