Cucina is an Italian restaurant which has been in Dubai for a very long time. As a huge fan of Italian cuisine, I always wanted to try out this restaurant, but somehow I couldn’t get around to it. I am glad that I finally visited Cucina and I can’t wait to come back again.
Located at the Lower Lobby Level of the JW Marriott Hotel in Deira, Cucina is an authentic Italian restaurant helmed by Italian Chef Mauro and his team.
Cucina is a cozy and homey trattoria style restaurant. It has simple and rustic interiors with an exposed brick open kitchen, a separate area for their wood fire oven and a bar. This Italian restaurant has 2 levels of dining space-ground and top. Dim lighting, beautifully laid out tables with lovely tableware enhances the dining experience.
Cucina has a vast and wonderful menu that offers a good selection of traditional Italian antipasti and salads, accompanied by homemade pastas, pizzas, risottos and desserts.
Complimentary basket of freshly baked Bread with their Homemade dip is served to all the guests.
Insalata Cucina was a hearty and refreshing salad with a mix of greens and veggies in a balsamic dressing.
Tortino di Funghi Cremini e Taleggio is a great choice for all mushroom lovers. It was made with portobello mushroom, spinach, tomato, Taleggio cheese, Argula salad, taggiasca olive and extra virgin olive oil emulsion.
Insalata Caprese is a must-try dish at Cucina. It was an amazing dish with buffalo mozzarella, 5 kinds of tomatoes, fresh basil and extra virgin olive oil. It was served along with delicious bits of black olive pesto crouton.
Mediterranea Pizza is their signature wood fire vegetarian pizza with roasted veggies, tomato sauce, basil, oregano and chili olive oil. It was fantastic.
Ravioli con Ricotta e Spinaci, Burro Fondente alla Salvia is their homemade pasta with ricotta cheese, spinach ravioli, creamy butter and butter topped with grated Parmesan cheese. It was perfectly cooked and tasted good.
Can’t think of ending an Italian meal without Tiramisu, the classic Italian dessert. We relished this dream of a dessert that was served in a coffee cup.
Panna Cotta was the other Italian dessert that we tried. It was served with mixed berry compote.
The food, the service and the ambience was good. Whether it is a meal with family, friends or business associates, Cucina is a perfect destination for authentic Italian food.
