Last Friday I had the pleasure of dining at Kris With A View with my kids. Having already been to an Iftar party hosted by a friend, I kind of knew what to expect, but nevertheless I was excited to visit Kris With A View.
Located on the 19th floor of the Park Regis Kris Kin Hotel, Kris With A View is a fine dining restaurant that offers a spectacular view of Dubai. Whether you want to dine with your family or meet up with your friends or want to talk business with your business associates, Kris With A View is the place for you.
Kris With A View is a Pan Asian Restaurant that offers both buffet and a la carte menu. They have a different theme night every night except Saturday and Sunday. We visited on a Friday and it was an Indian and Malaysian Night.
The ambience of the restaurant is gorgeous. It has a contemporary, spacious and stylish look with comfortable seating area. They also offer private dining space and a lounge area. Sleek glass windows, dim lighting and beautiful settings add a romantic touch to the place. It’s a good place to dine with a special someone.
As soon as we were seated, we were given a drinks menu. The drinks menu was impressive, with a wide range of cocktails, mocktails, fresh juices, wines and other spirits. While the kids had a fresh Watermelon Juice, I had a Mint based mocktail and their signature cocktail Singapore Sling. All our drinks were refreshing and tasty.
Though we were handed an a la carte menu, we ditched it in favor of the buffet. We started off with the salad counter. Our favorites in the salad counter was the Cucumber Salad, Pineapple Salad and Mix Fruit Chaat Masala Salad.
Next we went to their live cooking counter where their Malaysian chef made us Roti Jala, it was like a net crepe that is popular in Malaysia. Roti Jala went well with the Malaysian stew. Both the Roti Jala and the stew was fantastic.
Right next to the Roti Jala Station was the live Pav Bhaji Station, we liked the freshly toasted Pav with Bhaji. The Bhaji would have been better if it would have been less spicier.
There were starters like Springrolls, Pakoda, Kebabs and Tandoori Chicken Tikka.
There were abundant choices when it came to main course, both in Malaysian and Indian. In Malaysian, it was mostly non vegetarian dishes, so I didn’t try much. But I did like the Malaysian veg curry and noodles.
There were most of the popular Indian dishes in the Indian counter. And the Indian counter had many vegetarian options. Their Biryani was excellent.
The dessert section had Indian sweets, Pan Asian delicacies, cakes and puddings. We loved the Baked Yogurt, Chocolate Cake and Jalebi. The kids gorged on tasty Pavlova.
Overall, we had a lovely dining experience. The food was good, but a bit more variety will be great. The service was efficient and flawless. The pricing is very reasonable and affordable. If you are looking for a good Pan Asian restaurant in this part of the city, then Kris With A View is worth visiting.
