The Arabian Experience At Sehr Al Bahar

Located on the 3rd floor of JA Ocean View Hotel at Jumeirah Beach Residence is the hidden gem-Sehr Al Bahar. It is an al fresco restaurant and lounge. If you are looking for an authentic Arabian  experience in Dubai, then Sehr Al Bahar is the place for you.

By day it’s JA Ocean View Hotel’s pool bar, but in the evening it is the Arabic dining destination.

What can you expect from Sehr Al Bahar?

Sehr Al Bahar means ‘Magic of the Sea’ and the view is magical indeed. Their roof top terrace overlooks the Arabian Ocean. It is a great place to enjoy the stunning sunset.

Sehr Al Bahar offers authentic Arabic food and fresh grills, good selection of Shisha and live entertainment in the form of belly dance. You can expect a perfect evening under the stars.

Here’s my account of Sehr Al Bahar.

Getting to Sehr Al Bahar was easy as it is located in the prime area of JBR. Having visited JA Ocean View Hotel many times, it was my first time at Sehr Al Bahar. I must say I was  surprised to find this wonderful spot.

The first thing I saw when I entered was a bar. Arabic inspired decor, comfy couches and furniture, dim lighting and relaxed atmosphere makes the place very inviting.

After being seated, I was handed the menu. Sehr Al Bahar offers a la carte menu and Arabian experience set menu. The Arabian experience set menu includes a welcome drink, vegetable crudités, traditional Arabic Mezze, fresh saj bread, mixed grill and fruit platter. The price of the set menu is 180 Dhs. For other drinks and cocktails, you need to pay extra.

As I and my partner happened to be vegetarians, we didn’t have the mixed grill and we sampled everything  else.

We were offered a welcome drink, which was the refreshing Mint Lemonade.

Their drinks menu offers fresh juices, soft drinks, mocktails, cocktails and other spirits. We ordered their signature cocktails- Qasab and  Persian Martini. Glad that we ditched the regular cocktails and opted for their special cocktails. Their signature cocktails are made with an Arabic twist and they taste super delicious.

Next came the Vegetable Crudités with garlic tahini dip. It was fresh and crunchy.

As we were munching on vegetable crudités, our cold and hot mezze made an entry. We had  Tabbouleh, Hummus, Makdous, Grilled Halloumi  with rocca leaves in sumac dressing and Falafel. Each and every dish was amazing. We especially loved the Makdous, grilled Halloumi and Falafel as it was perfectly done.

We were also served freshly baked bread from their live station.

As we were enjoying our dinner, the beautiful and talented belly dancer  kept us entertained.

We had Umm Ali for dessert. It was served warm. Umm Ali was creamy, soft and utterly delicious. It was a perfect ending to our dinner.

We had a wonderful Arabian experience. Whether you are a resident or a tourist, Sehr Al Bahar is a great place to unwind and relax in a gorgeous setting and indulge in the traditional Arabic cuisine.
