BOXPARK never ceases to amaze me, this uber cool destination in Dubai houses some of the finest cafes, restaurants and stores. An email invite to visit Yamaha Cafe made me buckle my seat belt and zoom past Dubai roads to reach the cafe.
The Yamaha Cafe at BOXPARK happens to be the first of it’s kind in the world. It is the venture of Al Yousuf Group, who are also the exclusive distributors of Yamaha bikes in the UAE.
Yamaha Cafe is a first of it’s kind biker’s cafe. This Yamaha inspired cafe and concept store offers Japanese cuisine. The cafe also showcases Yamaha motorbikes and motor accessories. The cafe also has TV screens and gaming consoles.
It’s a small cafe with an indoor and outdoor dining area. The decor of the place is modern and sophisticated. It has a relaxed and chilled out vibe.
The menu is limited. The drinks menu offers mocktails, fresh juices, soft drinks, coffee and tea. As it was a sunny afternoon both my friend and I opted to have something cold. My friend had the drink Tokyo Sunrise and I had the Matcha tea with ice cream and mint. Both our drinks were cool ,refreshing and tasty.
We were served Edamame and Sweet potato chips as our appetizer. The steamed edamame was salted. The chips was sweet and chewy.
When it comes to vegetarian food, they hardly offer any variety. We had the Wolverine vegetable roll and Vegetable Fried rice as our mains. The vegetable roll was outstanding. We relished it. Vegetable fried rice is a simple dish and you can’t go wrong with it.
For desserts we wanted to have Mochi, but it was not available and that’s how we ended up having Ohagi. It is a sticky rice ball stuffed with red beans paste and flavored with soybean flour. We were served Ohagi with vanilla ice cream in the side. It was okay, but given a choice I would’ve opted for Mochi.
Overall, we had a pleasant experience. The food, the service and the ambience was good. If you are a Yamaha+Sushi fan then Yamaha Cafe is definitely for you.
