Barsalata-Downtown Dubai

Barsalata is a home grown concept that focuses on healthy food and drinks that are fresh, flavorful and delicious. It is a great place for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner. Whether you are a non vegetarian or vegetarian/vegan you will have plenty of choices.

Located at the beautiful Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard in Downtown Dubai, Barsalata has a great location. It is easily accessible.

The interiors of Barsalata are gorgeous. It has ceiling to floor windows that fills the place with natural sunlight. Loved the upside down potted plants on the ceiling, it added a quirky touch to the classy place.

I was invited by  Monica Kapila of  Doindubai for the BME breakfast event with three other bloggers. It was a morning filled with good food and  great conversation in a beautiful setting. Wednesday morning can’t get better than this.

We started off the BME event with hot beverages. I had a cup of  Cappuccino, it was perfect and just the way I like it-freshly brewed, hot and strong.

From their breakfast section of the menu, we tried the  Mocha Latte Quinoa and Baked Organic Eggs. Mocha Latte Quinoa had an eclectic combination of coffee, quinoa with vanilla infused yogurt, coconut flakes, berries and dark chocolate. It was amazing.  The Baked Organic Eggs made a hearty and wholesome meal.

The Falafel muffins with Tahina dressing from the small bites section was everyone’s favorite. It makes for a great snack, that can be had anytime of the day.

Barsalata offers a wide range of salads. They also have an option to build our own salad.

We tried our hand in making our own salad. It came out pretty decent I must say.

We also had the refreshing Mediterranean Freekeh Salad. All their salads come in two sizes.

We tried two of their sandwiches-the Grilled Cheese Sandwich and Grilled Vegetable & Hummus Sandwich. I liked them both, but the cheese one was my favorite. The Grilled Cheese Sandwich at Barsalata is extremely good.  The date-mustard dip makes a great combo with the sandwich.

No meal is complete without dessert. We had Flourless Brownie and Zucchini Cake for dessert. Again, difficult to answer which one we liked better. Both of them were excellent. The Flourless Brownie was utterly delicious and it was gluten free too. The Zucchini Cake was irresistibly light and super moist.

We washed down the meal with some fresh juices and other drinks. From their fresh juices, we tried the Green Glow and Orange Glory. We also tried their Sparkling Sumac Lemonade and Coconut Chai. Except Coconut Chai, I liked everything.

Overall, I had a great dining experience. Barsalata serves food that is healthy, appetizing and not boring. I liked the fact that after trying so many varieties, I didn’t feel stuffed. I can’t wait to come back again.

I dined with fellow bloggers Gbemi from http://www.dubaifitfoodie.com, Sneha from http://www.thevegetariansoul.com and Javeria from http://www.dineoutdubai.net. The event was organized by Monica of http://www.doindubai.com .
