Pizza is enjoyed by people of all ages across the world. It ranks high in my favorite food list. I am always on a look out for new pizza joints in town. Dubai is home for great many pizzerias. But only a handful of them serve really good pizzas. I recently came across one such pizzeria- Pizzaly!
I hadn’t heard about Pizzaly until I received a mail from the Italian owner of the restaurant. He invited me to try the pizzas at Pizzaly and wanted a honest feedback. So on a Saturday evening I traveled to the other side of the city to visit Pizzaly.
Pizzaly is located in Jumeriah Village Circle. You definitely require a GPS if you are not familiar with this part of the city. With the help of the GPS we reached the place easily. They are opening a new branch in Dubai Marina very soon.
Pizzaly is a small restaurant with limited seating capacity, the main focus of the place is on delivery. It is a bright and cheerful place. The concept of Pizzaly is to use fresh and high quality ingredients in all their dishes. As given in their menu: “Pizzaly represents the modern fusion between food and healthy lifestyle, with an original Italian vision but developed with an international perspective.”
The menu at Pizzaly is simple. They have four varieties of pizzas- Classic pizza, International pizza, Healthy pizza and Dessert Pizza. They also offer limited salads and sides. As for drinks they serve soft drinks and water.
I tried three pizzas from the Classic Pizza category- Bufalina, Pizzaly and Vegetarian pizzas.
Bufalina- It is my favorite pizza at Pizzaly. It is authentic, fresh and delicious. It is a simple pizza made with tomato sauce, mozzarella and basil. This pizza reminded me of the Bufalina I had in Italy.
Pizzaly- This pizza was my son’s favorite. It is their signature pizza with a beetroot tomato base and four cheeses. The toppings were mushrooms and onions. This pizza is on the heavier side unlike their other pizzas as it has lot of cheese.
Vegetarian- The vegetarian pizza had a mix of vegetables like bell peppers, zucchini, cherry tomatoes and onions. It was flavorful and tasty. They can also make a healthier version of this pizza without cheese.
I had no choice but to skip the international pizzas as they all contained meat. But hopefully they will come up with a vegetarian one too.
From the healthy pizza section we had the Mountain Flower. Interestingly the sauce was made with beetroot and topped with mushrooms and cherry tomatoes. All the healthy pizzas are made with brown rye dough. The healthy pizzas are light and healthy.
They have two dessert pizzas on their menu and we tried them both.
Nutella Pizza had a crispy base with Nutella spread generously and topped with roasted pine nuts. I am not a fan of Nutella, hence I didn’t like it much whereas my son loved it. It was crunchy.
Custard & Fruit pizza had a soft base with custard on the top. The toppings on this dessert pizza was apple, nectarine and strawberry. It is on the sweeter side when compared to the Nutella pizza. I quite liked it.
All their pizzas come in two sizes. The portion size is big. The prices are reasonable and affordable. Pizzaly is vegetarian and vegan friendly. All their pizzas are fresh, healthy and tasty. Pizzaly is a must-visit place for pizza cravings.
