Maharaja Bhog- The Best Thali Concept in Dubai

Maharaja Bhog Dubai

Our go-to place for a good wholesome Indian thali in Dubai has been Maharaja Bhog. We have been visiting Maharaja Bhog from years and they’ve never disappointed us. Last week we popped in at their venue for lunch.

Located in the popular foodie hub of Karama, Maharaja Bhog is a spacious restaurant with comfortable seating area. I suggest that you come hungry as there is too much to eat.

For the uninitiated Thali is an entire meal that is served in a huge platter or thali that consists of salads, pickle, starters, mains and desserts. In India it is served mainly during lunch time. You can have during dinner too. Every Indian state offers a different thali. At Maharaja Bhog they serve Rajasthani and Gujarati thali. Rajasthan and Gujarat are 2 different states in India.

Maharaja Bhog’s menu changes every day. It is a vegetarian-only restaurant. We ordered their Premium Veg Thali and it featured more than 30 dishes. You can expect authentic regional food from India that is freshly prepared by their talented chefs.

Before serving the food, they get a jar of water and bowl for us to wash our hands on the spot. This ritual is again repeated when we finish our meal.

Two drinks Kesar Chandan Sherbat and Mango Lassi was served, it is part of the thali. Their thali is served with condiments like Poppadum, Pickle, Chutney, Salad and Raita.

Maharaja Bhog has a Chaat trolley and they come to your table and make chaats, we had Pani Puri and Dahi Puri. They even prepared Masala Papad for us.

We were served Cheese Bhujia Roll and Corn Dhokla as our starters. For main course there was a selection of various Dals, Kadis, Vegetables, Rotis and Rice.

Some of the dishes that stood out in their thali were Paneer Achari, Jodhpuri Gatta, Dudhi Mudhiya Kadhi, Makkai Rotla and Moong Dal Khichdi. For dessert there was Gulab Jamun, Beetroot Halwa and Malai Kulfi.

We ended our lunch with Masala Chai which is also a part of their premium thali. Each and every dish was packed with exquisite taste and amazing flavor. The service was quick and flawless. The pricing is reasonable and affordable. Maharaja Bhog is a must-visit vegetarian restaurant.
