Lunch With Family at Mango People

Mango People

Last Saturday my family and I went out for lunch after nearly three months and it was to a restaurant called Mango People. I am glad that we chose this restaurant to dine-in after the lockdown as the food, hospitality and the safety measures were outstanding.

Mango People is a family style modern Desi restaurant that serves authentic Pakistani and Indian cuisine. It is located on the ground floor of Blue Building in Dubailand.

The decor of the restaurant is Bollywood inspired with posters of Bollywood stars and blockbuster movies. The Bollywood music on their stereo adds a nostalgic touch to the venue. Mango People is a small and cozy restaurant with friendly atmosphere.

We were offered refreshing Shikanji shots as our welcome drinks. From their ‘Tawa and Tandoor’ section of the menu we had Mirchi Paratha and Gobi Paratha. Both the parathas were utterly delicious and it was served with salad and dips. You can have their paratha combo for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Next we had Paneer Tikka which was a bit disappointing as it was dry and lacking in flavor. Being vegetarians we were happy with the veggie options and for main course we had almost all the veg dishes in their menu.

The dishes we tried were Mango People Special Dal, Alu Bhurjee, Chana Masala, Paneer Butter Masala, Bhindi Do Pyaaza, Baghaar-e-Baingan, Alu Palak, Vegetable Biryani, Roghni Naan and Cheese Naan.

All the dishes were packed with exquisite flavor and tasted extremely delicious. Ended our lunch with three of their delightful desserts Gajjar Ka Halwa, Gulab Jamun and Zafrani Kheer.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Mango People. The food, the drinks, the atmosphere and the service was fabulous. Another plus point is their affordable pricing.
