It was my first ever visit to a restaurant in Dubai Studio City. Naturally I was excited to dine at a new destination. Located in the ground floor of the Hive is the new Indian restaurant Masala Studio.
If you’re Bollywood buff like me then you’re in for a treat. Masala Studio is a Bollywood themed Indian restaurant with creative blockbuster dishes and Bollywood-inspired interiors. You can expect a little bit of Bollywood in everything- from menu to the picture frames on the wall.
The restaurant is small and cosy with an indoor and an outdoor dining area. Their menu features soups, sides, chaats, starters, curries, biryani, mains and desserts along with cold and hot beverages.

We started off with Lassi and Guava Mary to drink. As our starter we ordered Pani Puri, Hara Bhara Kebab and Mini Punjabi Samosa.

The Hara Bhara Kebab and Punjabi Samosa was excellent, but the Pani Puri was a bit of a disappointment. The puris were not crisp and the Pani was lacking in flavor. The presentation was on point.

For main course we had Baingan Bharta, Subzi Banjara, Paneer Makhanwala along with Mini Tokri and Family Naan. All the dishes were perfectly cooked and packed with authentic flavor and great taste. Each and every dish was delicious. The Indian breads were freshly baked and went very well with the curries.

Ended our dinner with Gajjar Ka Halwa and Matka Kulfi. Both the desserts were scrumptious. We had actually ordered Gulab Jamun but the server got us Gajjar Ka Halwa, we didn’t bother to replace it.
Overall our dining experience at Masala Studio was good. The food and the drinks were amazing. The service could have been a bit more attentive and quick. If you are looking for an Indian restaurant in and around Dubai Studio City, then you can definitely give Masala Studio a try.
