After a wonderful holiday in UK for 10 days, I returned home to Dubai yesterday and the first venue that I had a meal was at Verve Bar & Brasserie. And I couldn’t have picked a better place.
Verve Bar & Brasserie is the latest venture of Gordon Ramsey trained British duo- Nick & Scott. Located in the Ground Floor of Grand Plaza Movenpick, Verve is a contemporary brasserie featuring modern European cuisine.
The interiors of Verve Bar & Brasserie is classy, chic and elegant. They have a lovely bar area, wine cellar, private dining room and a spacious dining area. It is a perfect venue for date night.
Verve offers business lunch on weekdays, Friday brunch on Fridays and recently they’ve launched ‘Welli & Wine Night’ on Wednesdays. For our dinner last night we ordered from their a la carte menu.
To drink we ordered a glass of Wine and we were offered Bread with olive oil to start. As our appetizer we ordered Salad of quinoa, pumpkin, pomegranate, mustard and marjoram. The salad was garden-fresh and filled with exquisite flavors. The portion size was generous and my partner and I shared it.
Their menu offers something for everyone and as vegetarians, we were not disappointed. Creamy Caramelized cauliflower and gruyère cheese gratin made for a good side dish.
For our mains we had the incredibly delicious and moreish Fricassée of seasonal mushrooms, potato dumplings and tarragon and Crispy pumpkin and sage tortellini, aged Parmesan velouté. The tortellini was a bit disappointing as it was too sweet for our liking and we would have preferred it soft rather than crispy.
The best part of the dinner was the dessert. We loved both their Strawberry and basil meringue and Apple tart tatin with vanilla bean ice cream. Our favorite dessert was the Apple tart tatin. It was phenomenal and an absolute must-try.
Our dining experience at Verve Bar & Brasserie was amazing. The food, the drinks, the service and the atmosphere was great.
