Let me make an honest confession before I write this review. The sole reason for my visit to The Roost Rotisserie yesterday was to have their famous Kurtos. But I ended up having an entire meal including Kurtos and in fact I really enjoyed my dining experience.
Located in the peaceful and pretty neighborhood of Al Manara in Dubai, Roost is a premium yet affordable rotisserie. Their main focus is to provide free range, hormone and antibiotic-free, fresh, locally sourced chicken in rotisserie style.
Chicken might be their prime focus, but they also offer many other dishes freshly prepared in-house. As a vegetarian, I was pleasantly surprised to see few veggie-friendly dishes. And yes, vegetarians can have a decent meal at The Roost.
The restaurant is cute and cosy with warm and friendly vibes. They also have an outdoor seating area. As it was quite sunny in the afternoon I sat indoors for lunch.
Their menu features freshly pressed juices and mocktails, but I stuck to the basics and had still water. Started off my lunch with Kee-Nwa, a nourishing and nutritious salad with quinoa, beetroot, marinated feta cheese and balsamic dressing. It was healthy yet super tasty.
Next I had the Vegetarian Quesadilla which was simple, basic and comforting.
Almost all their side dishes are vegetarian and I loved their Corn on the Cob with Lime and Parmesan.
As my main course, I ordered a sandwich interestingly named as You Met Herbivore? It was an open sandwich with grilled halloumi, mushroom, capsicum and basil mayo. I liked the toppings but the bread was too hard to bite. The Parmesan Truffle Fries that came along with the sandwich were awesome and moreish.
The highlight of my lunch at The Roost was the dessert. Their famous Kurtos comes in 4 flavors and I tried the Dulce De Lèche which was sinfully delicious. The hype is real, their Kurtos are the best and I cannot recommend it enough.
Ended my lunch with a cup of Cappuccino. I had never thought that I could get such a good vegetarian meal at a rotisserie, it was worth the visit.
