Say hello to brand new Mexican Restaurant in town- Puerto 99, a fabulous new addition to the culinary scene in Dubai. Puerto 99 is located near Ain Dubai in Bluewaters Island and offers a beautiful waterfront view.
The Mexican-inspired interiors of the venue is vibrant, chic and oh-so-amazing. Sprawled across two floors, Puerto 99 is a spacious venue that also offers an al fresco seating area. The ground floor houses the restaurant and top floor has a bar and lounge.
We loved the Mariachi band that was playing in the venue. The atmosphere of Puerto 99 is lively and friendly.
The menu of Puerto 99 features authentic recipes of Mexican regional dishes, seafood, steak and a range of cocktails. The iPad menu is visually appealing and easy to order.
We started off with chilled Mexican Beer and Chocolate Colaba to drink. While we were going through the menu, we were served freshly made Corn Tortillas with traditional dips. It was a great snack to start with.
The Kale Salad with creamy avocado dressing was light, tasty and nourishing.
Next we had the Guacamole made with Mexican Haas avocado. The creamy and refreshing guacamole was oozing with exquisite Mexican flavors.
I can’t resist a good soup and when I saw Caldo de Setas in their menu, I had to order it. Caldo de Setas is a comforting soup made with roasted mushroom in veggie broth chilies and garlic. It is vegan and healthy.
For vegetarians like me, the veggie options are limited especially for mains. We ordered Vegetable Quesadilla and it was simple yet delicious. Along with the quesadilla we ordered Papas Cambray as our side dish. Made with baby potatoes, it was a bowl of goodness.
Dessert was a decadent affair and we enjoyed both the desserts that we ordered- Mexican Churro and Mole Spiced Lava Cake.
Overall, we had a good dining experience at Puerto 99. It is a must-visit venue for all Mexican food lovers. The only downside was the service which needs a bit of improvement.
