My go-to place in Dubai for Yum Cha is The China Club, a Chinese restaurant specializing in the flavors of Peking, Cantonese and Szechwan cuisine. This longstanding Chinese restaurant in Dubai recently launched an Indo-Chinese menu and we were few of the first ones to try it.
The China Club is located in Radisson Blu Dubai Deira Creek in Deira. The Chinese-inspired interiors of the restaurant looks bright, elegant and classic. It is a spacious venue and also has private dining cubicles.
The intricately embroidered tapestries, bright red chandeliers, framed pictures on the walls and the oriental furniture will give you a glimpse of China.
As it was a launch event, the venue was packed. We were served mocktails and juices. For dinner, there was a set menu with vegetarian and non vegetarian options. Being vegetarians, we went for the veg set menu.
Soup
The first course was the tangy and refreshing Chinese Parsley and Lemon Soup. It was a brothy soup with crunchy veggies.
Starters
Our starters were Paneer Bell Pepper and Honey Chili Potatoes. The paneer bell pepper could have been better as it was bland, but the crispy honey chili potatoes that had a delicious blend of sweet and spicy flavor was amazing. A must-try !
Mains
Vegetables in Hunan Chili Sauce and Vegetable Manchurian were the two main dishes we had. Both the dishes were cooked to perfection and went well with rice and noodles.
Szechuan Wok-Fried Rice and Shanghai Noodles were tasty and had well-balanced flavors. We especially liked the Shanghai noodles.
Dessert
Dessert was not something special but simple and basic. Honey Noodles A La Mode or honey noodles with vanilla ice cream was the dessert that we were served. Though it was not creative, it was comforting.
We enjoyed the new Indo-Chinese menu at The China Club. The menu offers a good variety for everyone and definitely I would like to come back and try the full menu.
