New year, new expectations and for a foodie like me, new restaurants to visit. If you have listed restaurants to visit in 2019 in your dining-wishlist, then you should definitely add Andes to that list. You can thank me later.
Andes is a contemporary South American Restaurant that opened few months ago in the Ground Floor of The Offices 3, One Central by Dubai World Trade Centre. Their menu offers breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The Concept of Andes according to their team
Andes Restaurant churns out culinary theatrics daily from 7am-11pm serving elegant breakfasts, speciality coffee, business lunches, fine dining dinner tasting menu and chef’s table experiences. All driven by a young team of mates toying with a cuisine inspired by the Andes and modern gastronomy- a culinary theatre for Dubai’s foodies.
The restaurant has modern and minimalistic decor with an open kitchen and a coffee bar. The outdoor shaded deck offers a lovely view of the city.
The menu at Andes is not too big, so choosing is easy. For vegetarians/vegans the options are limited.
After being seated, we were offered complimentary platter of amuse bouche which was a simple Goat Cheese Tart.
From their drinks menu we ordered, Green Cold-Press Juice and Lemon + Pomegranate botanical drink. Both the drinks were good, but the garden-fresh Green cold-press juice was our favorite. As it was healthy, nutritious and tasty.
Loved the house-made comforting Sourdough Bread that was presented to us in a beautiful way.
First Course
For first course or appetizer, we ordered two of their salads. The Heritage Salad was a basic salad, very easy to make and you cannot go wrong with that.
Grilled Salad was one of the best salads we had in a long time.It had seasonal veggies grilled to perfection with lemongrass and pumpkin seeds. A unique and flavorful salad, that is worth ordering.
Second Course
Daal Lentils is a good main course option for vegetarians/vegans. This wholesome dish had lentils cooked in turmeric and green chilies topped with roasted cauliflower and fresh coriander leaves. Even a non-cauliflower like me, liked this dish.
Mushroom Pasta was delicious and we loved the taste of tender mushrooms and the nutty-tasting Comté cheese.
Third Course
Trilogy consisted of house made sorbet, ice cream and walnut biscuit. The combination was delightful and it was not heavy either.
The Andes Mountains was a dream of a dessert that had organic dark chocolate brownie, hazelnut and Tonka ice cream. This super-indulgent and rich dessert is a must-try.
We ended our lunch with a cup of freshly brewed Coffee.
Our dining experience at Andes was amazing. The presentation, taste and flavor of all the dishes that we tried was outstanding. The good food and drinks is complemented by the lovely atmosphere and flawless service.
