This winter in Dubai, I’m rediscovering one of my old favorite hangout and can’t be more happier. Yes, winter in Dubai is all about al fresco dining and last week I was back in the licensed Century Village in Garhoud suburbs.
We visited Da Gama Restaurant and Lounge for lunch. Named after the great Portuguese explorer Vasco Da Gama, the restaurant serves delectable Portuguese cuisine along with Mexican classics.
Da Gama is a spacious venue that has a bar, lounge and a restaurant area along with an outdoor dining space. The interiors indoors is bright, elegant and classy with large television screens to watch sports.
We sat outdoors which has a lush green surroundings and serene atmosphere. Da Gama is known for its beautifully handcrafted cocktails and other beverages.
We ordered three of their super refreshing cocktails- frozen Margarita, white wine Sangria and Daiquiri. All the three cocktails were mixed to perfection and the presentation was on fleek.
Their menu offers a lot of variety, both Portuguese as well as Mexican dishes. And I was happy to note that vegetarians like me have good options.
Starters
The crispy fried cheese stuffed with breaded jalapeños or the Stuffed Jalapeño Poppers was delicious and crunchy with a subtle spicy flavor.
Red Pepper Hummus served with chili dusted tortilla shards was another starter that we liked. The slightly spicy red pepper hummus is a great dip to start a meal.
Their moreish Truffle Fries is addictive and a must-try.
Mains
The hearty and wholesome Da Gama Salad which had a medley of veggies in a herbed balsamic dressing made a perfect side dish with our main course.
Stuffed Vegetable Quesadilla was served with sour cream, guacamole and spicy salsa. The portion size was big enough to be shared between 2 people.
Dessert
We ended our lunch with their indulgent Sizzling Brownie that was served with vanilla ice cream. It was a great way to end a wonderful lunch.
Our dining experience at Da Gama was good. The drinks, the food, the atmosphere and the service was amazing.
