As travel beckons again, I had to make a mandatory mall crawl to shop for my upcoming journey. What can be better than shopping in a mall? Trying out a restaurant that I have never been before. That’s how I came across The Grill Shack in the second level of The Dubai Mall.
Though the restaurant is in the food court of the mall, it has a separate area and you’ll not feel like you’re sitting in the food court. What really caught my eye was the edgy industrial decor. The venue has a vibe of an American diner. I loved the solid wood furniture, open kitchen, tableware and the lighting.
The Grill Shack is a homegrown concept offering American food as well as food from across the globe. You can expect steaks, ribs, burgers and more. Ordering from their iPad menu is fun and visually appealing.
Being a vegetarian, I didn’t get too many options. But adding couple more vegetarian options will be good. Nevertheless I did enjoy few of the dishes that I got to try.
To drink, I ordered their refreshing homemade lemonade-Passion Gingerada and my little girl ordered the milkshake-Candy Crush, Vanilla flavored milkshake with cotton candy and lollipops. Epic, was the word she used to describe the milkshake.
We started off with Fresh Garden Salad, it was a light, healthy and tasty salad drizzled with lemon and olive oil.
Their addictive Original Fries were perfectly done. We didn’t like their Cheesy Garlic Bread as we found it too heavy and loaded with too much cheese. But the Sizzling Baked Mushrooms was our hands down favorite. It had the delicious combination of roasted mixed mushrooms, shallots and truffle oil topped with melted cheese.
The Farfalle Pasta in white sauce and garden fresh veggies that we had as our main course was creamy, hearty and delightful.
We ended our lunch with the scrumptious and oh-so-indulgent Hot Chocolate Brownie Sneakers. It was served with chocolate fudge sauce, coconut ice cream and almond flakes.
We enjoyed our dining experience at The Grill Shack. The portion size is huge. If you’re looking for a meaty place in The Dubai Mall for a meal, The Grill Shack is the place for you.
