I was back at the trendiest lifestyle destination in Dubai- La Mer for the third time in a week. But this time to visit a unique, innovative and healthy eatery- Hola, that offers an exotic selection of fruit based delicacies.
This brand new addition to the hip beachfront destination is the brainchild of Emirati brothers Ali and Yousef Karmostaji. The idea for this concept was born as a result of Ali’s frequent visits to South America. Inspired by the passionate fruit street vendors in Mexico, the vision was to bring this authentic fruit experience to Dubai.
Located in the North side of La Mer, Hola has a fun, lively and inviting atmosphere. It literally transports you to a cool and chic beachside shack in Mexico.
This homegrown concept has colorful and creative interiors. It offers both indoor and outdoor seating area. The Latino music in the background adds to the overall atmosphere.
The menu is thoughtfully crafted and entirely revolves around fruits. The fruit based dishes are packed with flavor. You can expect the freshest seasonal produce directly from its source. And everything from their sauces, syrups, popsicles and ice creams are made in-house.
As a latte lover, I ordered their Hola Iced Latte which had a delectable combination of sweet coffee popsicle with hot coconut milk. I loved it.
Their Pina Colada is another must-try drink and it was served in a pineapple bowl. Never had a freshest Pina Colada as I had in Hola.
Next, we ordered the Barco Papaya. It had a papaya bowl filled with fruits like papaya, pineapple, dragon fruit, melon in a lemon dressing and pink salt. It was super refreshing.
Their House Salad of the day on that day was Mango and Mushroom Salad which also had cheese. The salad was light and tasty.
Hola Nigiri is their version of Nigiri made with strawberry, avocado and Sakura cress. It was good but I wish the rice was a bit more cooked.
As our main course, we ordered a savoury crepe- Mushroom Avocado. This scrumptious crepe had mixed mushrooms, Parmesan, tomato sauce, avocado, sour cream and candied onions.
Not to be missed is their Teppanyaki style Ice Cream Rolls. I loved watching the experience live at Hola.
I ended my Hola experience with a Vanilla Paletas or popsicle that was topped with fresh fruits, berries and sauce of my choice. It tasted sinfully delicious.
Hola is an amazing concept and a must-visit fruit bar. Loved the freshness, delicious flavors and creativity of the food and the drinks. It is complemented by their fantastic staff, faultless service and fabulous atmosphere. Hola comes highly recommended.
