Friday is just around the corner, that means its time for Friday brunch. How about going for a Friday brunch in a different Emirate? That’s what we did last Friday.
Away from the hustle and bustle of Dubai, we drove down to Ras Al Khaimah which is just an hours drive from Dubai. The drive was scenic and the kids even spotted few camels on the way.
Basilico , the award-winning Mediterranean restaurant in The Cove Rotana Resort launched their brand new Friday brunch- GourMed Brunch.

Inspired by fresh herbs and sun kissed flavors of the Mediterranean, the GourMed Brunch is the first epicurean experience of its kind in the Northern Emirates, taking place at the award-winning Basilico Restaurant.
Basilico is a family friendly restaurant with indoor and outdoor dining space. The restaurant has Mediterranean inspired decor with high ceiling, wooden flooring and arched entrance. The indoor area is spacious and all the buffet counters are located in this area. Also there is a bar as well.
The outdoor terrace offers the stunning view of the sea and the resort. And that is where the live band plays. The live band duo were talented and energetic, they kept us enthralled throughout the brunch.
The brunch offers both alcoholic and non alcoholic packages. We loved the wide array of fresh and healthy juices. They also had a separate counter for Sangria which tasted delicious.
What we liked about the GourMed Brunch was that there was an ‘a la carte’ menu to choose our dishes and also an extensive buffet. We ordered few dishes from their ‘a la carte’ menu and it was served to our table.
Their buffet had everything covered from salads, gazpacho, breads, cheeses, seafood, steaks to appetizers, mains and desserts. There were various cuisines like Italian, Spanish, French , Arabic and more.
There were live cooking counters and our pizza came freshly baked from their open kitchen. Their brunch offers something for everyone from meat lovers to seafood fanatics to vegetarians and healthy food connoisseurs.
And if you are a dessert lover like me, you will be spoilt for choice as they have a massive selection of cakes, chocolates, cookies, pastries, puddings, traditional sweets and seasonal fruits.
It was an absolutely amazing brunch, we loved the drinks, the food, the service, the atmosphere and the music. If you are looking for a relaxed, super chill, sumptuous and a delightful Friday brunch then the Basilico’s GourMed Brunch is the perfect brunch for you.
