As a food blogger in Dubai, I keep getting invites from restaurants in the different Emirates of UAE, but I generally don’t accept it due to the traveling. But if I do accept the invitation then the restaurant has to be extremely good.
One such restaurant that I was invited to is in the Emirate of Ajman and the name of the place is Thanani Restaurant. It is located in the premises of beautiful property of Al Zorah Golf Club.
This urban retreat kind of location itself was worth the drive from Dubai. Thanani is nestled in Al Zorah Pavilion at the Al Zorah Golf Club.
The restaurant boasts of a charming outdoor terrace area with a stunning view of the Al Zorah Creek which is home to natural mangroves.
The well-lit indoor dining space offers a modern lounge-style seating area with an open kitchen concept. Thanani is a contemporary European restaurant that offers breakfast, lunch, brunch, afternoon tea and dinner.
We visited them last Saturday afternoon for their newly launched and British inspired afternoon tea.
Reasonably priced at AED 170 for two, it includes tea of our choice and a selection of sweet and savory delights that is served in a three-tiered tray.
We liked their selection of premium quality tea. We ordered a pot of Organic Jasmine Tea which was fragrant and refreshing.
The sweet and savory treats that were offered to us included Scones, Carrot Cake, Lemon Cake, Polenta Cake, Sponge Cake, Chocolate Tart, Macaroons, Egg & Mayo Slider, Cucumber & Cheese Sandwich and Salmon on Toast.
The cakes and sandwiches were fresh, well-made and tasted amazing. The quality and quantity were both good.
In the cool winters of UAE sitting in their lovely outdoor terrace and soaking in the views and indulging in their afternoon tea was pure bliss. The only downside was the service which was slow and some of the staff members didn’t even know the names of the snacks that were being served at the restaurant.
