Wise Kwai- Authentic Thai Restaurant at Dusit D2 Kenz Hotel Dubai

My last dinner on the last day of 2017 was at Wise Kwai and I couldn’t have chosen a better place! Wise Kwai is one of the most authentic and best Thai restaurants in Dubai and if you love Thai food and haven’t visited them yet then you are missing out on some seriously good food.

Located in the sleek Dusit D2 Kenz Hotel in Barsha Heights, Wise Kwai is a Thai cinema-themed restaurant that offers authentic Thai street food. The restaurant is completely Thai managed, from staff to the chef, so you are guaranteed an authentic experience.

Wise Kwai is named after one of Thailand’s greatest film. The interior of the restaurant is inspired by the Thai movies. You can expect lot of color, fun and creativity in the decor department.

This quirky and kitschy Thai eatery has colorful furniture, funky chandelier and a whole lot of Thai movie memorabilia. Even our table mats had pictures from Thai movie. Full marks on the fab decor and the food didn’t disappoint either.

Their menu is vast and includes most of the classic Thai dishes. The vegetarian options are limited. One of their member of the staff, Honey helped us with our order and explained patiently about each and every dish on the menu.

We started with drinks first. Wise Kwai is unlicensed, so we had to do with their specialty mocktails. Cha Yen, an authentic street Thai iced tea was super refreshing and delicious. To give us a spicy kick we ordered Tomyumtini that had ginger, chili, kaffir lime and lemongrass. Their Tomyumtini is superb and a definite must-try.

Appetizers

For our appetizer we ordered, Tao Hu Thod which is a deep fried tofu served with sweet chili sauce. We also ordered Por Pia or vegetable spring roll that was served with sweet plum sauce. Both our appetizers were well made and tasty.

Yam Ma Muang Gung is a spicy green mango salad with peanuts. It had a burst of tropical flavors – fruity, hot, sweet, sour and salty.

Mains

Phad Thai, is the ultimate street food staple in Thailand. The taste and flavor of the Phad Thai at Wise Kwai will transport you to the streets of Thailand.

Pad Pak Ruam Mit or stir fried mixed veggies in oyster sauce is a simple dish and you can’t go wrong with that.

Jasmine Rice was served along with the stir fried mixed veggies.

Desserts

To satisfy our sweet cravings, we ordered not one but three of their amazing desserts. Tab Tim Krob(water chestnuts in cold coconut milk and crushed ice), Sticky Rice with Mango and Trio of homemade ice creams(coconut, tamarind and chili). Each one of the dessert had a distinct flavor and tasted utterly delightful.

It was the best Thai meal of 2017 and I can’t wait to visit them again. The food, the atmosphere and the service is outstanding.
