Red Tomato Pizza is a small pizzeria that has a look and a feel of an Italian trattoria. It has been around for more than nine years. Whenever I’ve visited Barsha I’ve passed by this place many times and finally last evening I visited Red Tomato Pizza with my family for dinner.
The rustic and earthy decor of the restaurant really stands out. We loved everything about their interiors from the gorgeous furniture to framed pictures on the wall and dim lighting. We couldn’t have asked for a better and intimate setting for our family dinner.
Red Tomato Pizza has indoor as well as outdoor dining area. In the center of the restaurant is the open kitchen, where we got to watch our wood-fired oven pizza being made.
Though it is predominantly a pizza restaurant, they’ve many other dishes in their menu. They’re a vegetarian friendly restaurant, so you can expect many good vegetarian options.
After being seated, we were offered a basket of complimentary Bread. Immediately, after that we ordered our drinks- Passion Fruit Mojito and Homemade Lemonade. The drinks were served in tall glasses with sugar syrup in the side. We were happy that our drinks were not loaded with sugar.
For our starters, we ordered Insalata del Contadino which was a basic salad. We also ordered Garlic Bread with cheese and Bruschetta Rossa, both of them were simple yet tasty.
For our mains, we ordered their Pesto Pizza which was a thin crust pizza made with pesto sauce, veggies, sundried tomatoes and Italian mozzarella. It was totally bland and didn’t have any flavor at all. We should have sticked to the Bufala Pizza instead.
Thankfully, the pasta that we ordered made up for it. Fusilli in Salsa Rossa was incredible. The pasta was spicy, creamy and delicious. Fusilli in Salsa Rossa was the highlight of our dinner at Red Tomato Pizza.
We ordered the chef’s special The Black Lava and the Italian classic Tiramisu for dessert. The kids liked the super indulgent and rich Black Lava where as hubs and I liked their utterly delicious Tiramisu.
The portion size is huge and the prices are pocket friendly. Decent Italian fare, beautiful atmosphere and good service. If you are in the neighborhood of Barsha, then you can give this restaurant a try.
Red Tomato Pizza does deliveries too, you can order online or call them over the phone.
