I have lived for nearly four years in Mumbai and I couldn’t visit Khyber, one of the most renowned restaurants in Mumbai. I clicked my heels in delight when I got to know that they’ve opened their first overseas outlet here in Dubai.
I immediately made a dinner plan to visit the multi-award winning restaurant that serves rich North Indian Cuisine. Khyber in Mumbai has hosted international celebrities like Sir Paul McCartney, Richard Gere and Demi Moore.
The Khyber outlet in Dubai is located in the 15th Floor of the beautiful property of Dukes Dubai.
Entering inside Khyber, we felt like we were transported to the regal Mughal era. The interiors of the restaurant is classic and majestic. Decked up in warm colors, it has a welcoming vibe. I loved the gorgeous paintings and ornate tapestries. Everything about the decor screams royalty. A great place to impress your guests.
The restaurant is vast and spacious with different kind of seating arrangement. It offers a 180-degree view of the Dubai Marina while dining at the restaurant and outdoor terrace.
The food menu offers soups, salads, appetizers, kebabs, curries, mains, bread and desserts. The menu has good options for both vegetarians and non vegetarians. As we are vegetarians, we opted for the veg dishes.
They’ve an equally impressive beverage menu that features a range of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. We ordered a glass of wine.
Before we could order our food, we were served condiments like Pickles, Chutney and Poppadam.
For our appetizer we shared a vegetarian Kebab Platter for 2. It consisted of Makai Ki Tikki, Seekh Kebab, Paneer Tikka and Reshmi Broccoli. The Makai Ki Tikki and Reshmi Broccoli were outstanding where as the other two were not that great.
- The Dal Makhani was well-made, creamy and loaded with amazing flavor.
- Paneer Korma is one of their signature dishes. It was rich, aromatic and deliciously flavored. It was on the heavier side but nevertheless it was amazing.
- Zaatar Lachha Paratha was freshly made and went well with the curries.
- We absolutely loved their Vegetable Dum Biryani that had a fabulous medley of fragrant basmati rice, veg curry, saffron, rose water and nuts.
- The creamy yogurt Raita was a great accompaniment to the Biryani.
For dessert we had the Sago Kheer with Mango Sorbet. This scrumptious dessert was light and extremely tasty.
Overall, we had a wonderful dining experience. The food, the service and the atmosphere is good. If you are planning a meal at a 5 Star North Indian restaurant in Dubai, then you can definitely consider Khyber.
