Good weather in Dubai calls for chilling in poolside bars and lounges. And that’s my plan for this winter. Glad that the weather has changed and I no longer have to spend my time inside stuffy restaurants and bars.
Recently I visited the coolest new lounge in the city- Coco On 8. Located on Level 8 in Media One Hotel, Coco On 8 is a Miami inspired poolside lounge.
Hear what team Coco On 8 has to say about their concept:
Step outside to this Miami inspired poolside lounge and indulge in innovative cocktails, light and sophisticated cuisine and sheesha in your private poolside cabana. From days floating in our pool to nights when the stars come out, Coco is your beautiful new best friend.
The minute we entered the venue, we were wowed by the tastefully done decor, felt like we were transported to sunny and chic Miami city in the East Coast of USA.
Coco on 8 is a very spacious venue with various kinds of seating arrangement. It has lounge chairs, cabanas, high stools and regular seating area. They have a nice well stocked bar and view of the Dubai skyline looks stunning.
The lounge is open from 12 noon onwards and offers an impressive array of drinks, delicious food and shisha. The menu is clear and concise, so it is easy to order.
I don’t smoke, so I didn’t try the shisha. As their cocktails looked amazing, I ditched my favorite drink wine to try their cocktails. From their classic cocktail section of the menu we tried Bellini and from their G & T’s I tried the Cucumber & Elderflower with Hendricks gin. Both the cocktails were handcrafted to perfection and tasted fabulous.
Their food menu offers light starters, salads, sushi, wraps, skewers, flatbreads, platters for sharing and desserts. I liked the fact that they offered healthy and vegetarian options along with the meat and seafood friendly dishes.
Some of the dishes we tried were:
- Raw Zucchini Noodle Salad was not only healthy, it was delicious too. A must-try at Coco if you ask me.
- Matcha, beetroot and spinach based Quinoa Rolls were light and tasty.
- Trio Of Gazpacho that had watermelon, tomato and kale was super refreshing.
- Mozzarella & Cherry Tomato Flatbread was wholesome and oh-so-good.
For dessert, we ordered Salted Caramel & Milk Chocolate Rice Rolls that was recommended by their staff. It took almost twenty minutes to arrive, but it was worth the wait. This dessert was deliciously different. We liked it.
We ended our evening with their own signature cocktail Little Havana, a spiced rum, passion fruit purée and pineapple juice based drink which tasted incredible.
What a wonderful evening we had on Coco On 8! The drinks, the food, the service, the music and the atmosphere was great.
