Last week I was back in Business Bay to visit a new bakery- Bisso’s Bakery. The specialty of Bisso’s is that everything is baked, they don’t fry or grill the food. Baking is the only method used. The ingredients used in the bakery is locally sourced, fresh and they don’t use any kind of artificial enhancers.
Located in the Ground Floor of Damac Maison Canal Views Hotel, Bisso’s Bakery is a Levant bakery offering freshly baked goodies along with hot and cold beverages.
Named after the owner’s wife, Bisso’s Bakery is a charming little bakery with indoor and outdoor seating area. The bakery has a beautiful and contemporary decor. It is a great place to dine-in or to grab a quick bite on-the-go. They also deliver to most of the places in Dubai.
After being seated, we were recommended to try their Rose Lemonade. This refreshing drink was made with pure rose petals and lemon. Not only did it look pretty, tasted amazing too.
We started off with some small bites, they offer a variety of small savory pastries and being vegetarians we tried some of their vegetarian bites like:
- Spinach
- Cheese and olives
- Pesto cheese
- Zaatar and cheese
We liked each and every one of them, but our favorite was the incredibly delicious Pesto cheese bun.
Braids are Bisso’s signature bread and they come in three varieties, we ordered their Single Braid with Akkawi cheese. Their braid was super-soft, tender and delicate. Good for snacking anytime of the day.
Next we ordered 3 in 1 Manakeesh. It had zaatar, akkawi cheese and flayfleh(spicy red pepper paste). It came with a side of tomatoes, black olives and cucumbers. The Manakeesh was awesome and comes totally recommended.
Bisso’s Bakery has a wide range of wraps. We tried two of them- Potato Wrap and Mushroom & Truffles. The simple potato wrap was fantastic where as the mushroom & truffles wrap was a bit plain and lacking in flavor and taste.
A visit to a bakery is incomplete without having something sweet. As our dessert, we ordered Tahini Cookies and Trio of buns. We tried three varieties of small sweet buns- charcoal bun with butterscotch filling, matcha bun with lotus filling and plain bun with nutella filling. I can’t tell which was our favorite, as each one of them were deliciously different.
We ended our meal with single-origin Ethiopian Coffee that was perfectly brewed.
Overall, we had a wonderful experience. The food, the drinks, the service, the atmosphere and the hospitality was great. Bisso’s Bakery is a hidden gem in Business Bay and I am glad that I discovered it.
