After being away for a month, I am back in Dubai and back to exploring the thriving restaurant scene in Dubai. The first restaurant that I visited after my holidays is Real Momos, that is located in the foodie haven of Karama.
As I am familiar with Karama, it was easy to locate the restaurant. It is situated near Rose Studio and Westzone Supermarket.
The restaurant is small with a seating capacity of 8-10 people. Its a basic restaurant with not much of an ambience to speak of. I would prefer a takeaway or a home delivery rather than dining in the restaurant.
Real Momos serves Nepalese, Indian and Indo-Chinese cuisine. As the name suggests, it specializes in Momos, but it also offers a wide range of other dishes.
They also have a breakfast menu. We started our dining experience with a chilled can of Limca, a lemon based soft drink.
The menu at Real Momos offers good options for both vegetarians and non vegetarians. As my appetizer, I ordered their very popular Chinese Bhel. It had crispy noodles tossed with veggies and it had a spicy and sweet flavor. We loved it.
Next we ordered the Veg Momo Platter and it had five varieties of veg momos. All their Momos have three options- steamed, fried and tandoori and we wanted our Momos steamed. So we went for the steamed option.
The five varieties of Momos that we tried were veggie, corn and cheese, paneer, mushroom and veggie Momos in Schezwan sauce. Our favorite were the paneer and corn Momos, the other Momos that we tried were bland and lacking in taste and flavor.
Their Dilli Wali Chowmein came highly recommended and I am glad that we ordered it. The Chowmein was very spicy and oh-so-delicious.
Finally, we ordered the Chocolate Sundae for dessert. At Real Momos, it was made with Snickers chocolate bar and vanilla ice cream.
Overall, we had a nice experience. The food, the variety and the service was good. The pricing is very reasonable and affordable. Glad that I discovered this hidden gem in Karama.
