The famous American chain TGI Fridays needs no introduction. This family friendly, casual dining concept, not only has outlets in USA, it has many outlets worldwide also. TGI Fridays was first started by Alan Stillman in 1965 in New York.
The name TGI Fridays stands for ‘Thank God It’s Friday’.
TGI Fridays has been our favorite family restaurant for years and when I heard that they launched a new vegetarian menu, I was super thrilled and visited them the very next day after they launched the new menu. Along with their regular menu, they now offer a separate vegetarian menu.
Dubai has many TGI Fridays outlets all across the city, we visited their Dubai Festival City outlet that is situated in the Level 2 of the mall.
TGI Fridays has the same interiors in all their outlets worldwide. The venue is spacious with comfortable seating area and American inspired decor.
Earlier they used to offer limited options for vegetarians, now they’ve a separate menu for vegetarians with good selection. You can choose from their appetizers, soups, salads, burgers, sandwiches and mains. They have also added couple of new desserts to their menu.
Drinks
We ordered our drinks first. TGI Fridays offers a great variety of drinks. We ordered their Signature Mojito and Electric Lemonade. Both our drinks were handcrafted to perfection and tasted absolutely refreshing.
While we were having a look at their new vegetarian menu, we were offered a complimentary basket of Bread.
Food
We ordered Jalapeño Cheese Spring Roll as our starter. It had spring roll covering stuffed with feta cheese and spicy jalapeño. The perfectly golden spring rolls were drizzled with honey and served along with red pepper and rocket leaves. This was our favorite and a definite must-try.
Grilled Vegetable Tostados had grilled tostados with fresh veggies, guacamole with lettuce, queso fresco and pico de gallo. The crispy and tasty tostados was garnished with chopped cilantro and lime wedge.
For our main course we ordered Veggie Wrapper. It had Pita bread stuffed with veggies, avocado, olives, cheese, marinated mushrooms and sundried tomato mayo. The veggie Wrapper was served with seasoned fries. We didn’t like this wrap as it was too bland.
Blackened Cottage Cheese, Spinach Alfredo Pasta was a delicious and wholesome meal. Loved the rich, creamy fettuccine pasta with spinach that was topped with New Orléans-style blackened cottage cheese patty, fresh tomatoes and green onions.
For dessert, we ordered their new Cheesecake Cones. It had crispy almond cones, filled with sweet mascarpone cream drizzled with chocolate and caramel. The Cheesecake Cones were served with whipped cream and a strawberry. It was extremely delicious. We relished it and if you haven’t tried it as yet, then you should definitely try it now.
We really liked their new vegetarian menu, it is a real treat for vegetarians like me. So happy that finally TGI Fridays is offering good veg options. Hoping to come back soon and try the other dishes in their menu, which I didn’t get to try.
