The Fork Cafe-Hidden Gem in Sharjah

Cafes in Sharjah
I rarely visit Sharjah, but a sudden lunch plan with family had me going to Sharjah after ages. The restaurant we were visiting in Sharjah happened to be close to The Fork Cafe and I decided to visit The Fork Cafe and pick up some food for our dinner.

I was not aware of this cafe, but recently I came across some drool worthy pictures of the food and drinks from The Fork Cafe posted by Sharjah based food bloggers.

The Fork Cafe is located opposite New Nesto Supermarket in University City, Sharjah. Its a small cafe without any seating area. You can either do a takeaway or call them for delivery.

The cafe opens every day from 11am till 10pm. We reached the place around 11:30 and knocked at the door of the cafe. It was opened by the staff and he handed me his iPad to have a look at the small and simple menu of the cafe.

The menu consists of:

  • 7 varieties of Dantel( modern version of the Emirati flat bread Chebab).
  • 6 flavors of Fork balls.
  • Fork bubbles in 3 flavors.
  • Noodle crepe
  • The Fork juice-2 kinds of shake.
  • Soft drinks and local water.

As I said earlier, the menu is small and simple. But everything is so unique and creative, that you will be surprised. I definitely was…

Here’s the small list of food and drinks that I ordered for my takeaway.

Noodles crepe
I’ve had crepe many times, but never had a noodles crepe, so I ordered their Fork Noodle Crepe. It had crepe in a noodle form that was generously drizzled with chocolate sauce and topped with vanilla ice cream and garnished with thin slices of strawberry. It was rich, sweet and delicious.

I also ordered 2 different flavors of Fork Balls– Cream cheese with chips(Oman) and Mixed 3 kinds of cheese with zaatar. The Fork balls are fried dough balls coated in crispy and powdered bread stuffed with different kinds of fillings.

We didn’t like the cheese with chips filling, but the mixed 3 cheese with zaatar was amazing. I am sure these Fork Balls will be a big hit in kids birthday parties.

Falooda
The Fork Cafe offers two specialty milkshakes-Falooda Shake and Chia Shake and I ordered both of them. Both the shakes were deliciously different and packed with unique flavors. And they came in a sleek and stylish bottle that can be reused.

The quality and the taste of food was good. The packing was great too. The Fork Cafe is truly a hidden gem in Sharjah. When I am in Sharjah next time, maybe I’ll go back and order the Dantel. Let me know of other hidden gems in Sharjah, I would like to visit them next time.
