After going to brunch after brunch every Friday, we were looking for a different kind of brunch. The beer lover in hubby wanted to go for a beer filled brunch. And that’s how we ended up at Belgian Beer Café for their Friday Belgian Beer Brunch.
Belgian Beer Café has 3 outlets in Dubai, we visited the Grand Millennium Dubai outlet that is located in the Ground Level of the hotel.
What is a Belgian Beer Café?
According to their website:
Belgian Beer Café- A haven in the heart of the city where every one can enjoy Belgian good taste in Beer, Food and Atmosphere.
Belgian Beer Café is a great place to hangout after work hours or for a relaxed time in the weekend. It has a friendly and inviting environment with an authentic Belgian inspired interior, great beer and delicious food. And warm hospitality makes it a perfect place to visit at any moment.
The Belgian Beer Café at Grand Millennium is very spacious and sprawled across two floors. We decided to dine at the ground floor, right across the bar. They have plasma televisions plastered all over the place, it was wonderful catching up with football match on the Telly.
The well stocked bar is the focal point of the Café. If you’re spending a short time at the Café, it’s a good idea to sit by the bar. They also offer a non smoking area.
Friday Belgian Beer Brunch takes place every Friday from 12 to 4pm. They offer two brunch packages- non alcoholic package and alcoholic package. The best part is that there is no buffet involved and everything is served at your table. So it’s a totally relaxed brunch.
We availed for the alcoholic package that is priced at AED 245 per person that offers food and 3 hours free flow of selected Belgian beers, wine and house spirits which is quite reasonable for a Dubai brunch.
We started off with some draught beer and then tried a variety of beer like Stella Artois, Stella Cider, Hoegaarden, Leffe Blonde, Leffe Brune and Kriek Belle-Vue. Some of the best Belgian beers from pale lager to lambic beer and Flemish red. It’s a beer lovers dream.
For the Friday brunch, there is a selection of appetizers that are served at the table. We had some great choices like Belgian Cheese Balls, Bitterballen, Cold cuts with mustard, Breaded Chicken Tenders with Blue Cheese Sauce, Garlic Jalapeño Bread, Smoked Salmon, Bread Shrimp with aioli, BBQ Chicken Wings and Belgian Mixed Salad.
Being a vegetarian we tried all the vegetarian dishes. And I must say they were fantastic. We were also offered complimentary bowl of mixed nuts with our beer. And also complimentary packet of freshly baked bread.
For the main course, there was a good variety too, from Mussels, Grilled Salmon, Tenderloin to Schnitzel, Vol-au-Vent, Carbonnade Flamande and Flemish Meatballs and more. We ordered the super indulgent Vegetarian Lasagna and tasty Veggie Sliders.
We liked the fact that all the food that was served to our table was hot, freshly made, flavorful and tasted delicious.
How can a meal be complete in a Belgian Café without having a Waffle. Yes, Belgian Waffle was served as our dessert. Drizzled with chocolate sauce and topped with vanilla ice cream, it was lip smackingly delicious.
We were also served a selection of mini cakes , tarts and pastries. We couldn’t do justice for this mini dessert platter, as we got overindulgent with the Waffle.
We ended our brunch with a cup of tea.
If you want to have a healthy and guilt-free dessert, then you opt for their fruit platter.
Overall,it was an amazing brunch. The food, the drinks, the service and the atmosphere was great. We would love to go back again and try their different theme nights.
